Inflation
15th May 2022, Sunday
A few days ago when I was selling at 87 Taka per dollar, now I am selling at 100 Taka rate per dollar. That means we are getting a lot of money from the past which is the reason why we are very happy. But is it really the cause of our happiness or is it going to making us rich?
The answer is - not at all!
Actually we are in deep trouble like Sri Lanka. The way Sri Lanka's economy is on the verge of collapse, getting 100 Taka per dollar is a sign that our economic system is collapsing. Now Sri Lankan 359 Rupees equal $1. So I can say, we are not so far from Sri Lanka.
Perhaps most people know the real story behind the collapse of the Sri Lankan economy. Most of their mega projects were meaningless meaning no profit was coming from there. As a result of which the amount of their foreign debt increases day by day, resulting in the onset of inflation.
When a country's economy is active, it will earn more than it spends on any project. And on top of that there is less corruption.
Our country is also following the path shown by Sri Lanka, some of the reasons of which I have mentioned below
Priceless Satellite - In 2019, a Bangladeshi satellite "Bangabandhu Satellite" was launched for the first time from the United States. The cost of launching that satellite was 115430k USD. But over the last three years that satellite has earned 0 USD. In other words, Bangladesh could not earn any money from there. Where the first satellite could not make any money, the government of our country has started the plan to launch the second satellite. It is natural for our country to experience inflation when our government has started spending money in vain to compete with other countries.
Well, I realized that satellite does not mean much, but the amount of corruption in each project in Bangladesh, with that amount of corruption, 10 to 15 more satellites could be sent out of the world. If he had tried, he could have created an organization like NASA with the money of corruption. But Bangladesh does not make science like NASA research, but researchers find out how to increase corruption.
Giving a small example of corruption in our country-
Each group in each country has their traditional dress. One of the traditional garments of our Bangladesh is "Mujib Coat". Although no one outside the people of Bangladesh knows that. The specialty of this coat is that the father of our nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman called for independence against West Pakistan. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's daughter is currently serving as the Prime Minister of our country. She likes to waste a lot of money on death anniversaries and anything else. A few days ago, a girls' soccer final was supposed to be held in a district in our country. The program received a grant of 20 million Taka or about 230 million dollars from the government to implement the program, but it was later found that they were unable to implement the program even after receiving the grant money, meaning they embezzled the money.
At present the most talked about and mega project in Bangladesh is the Padma Bridge.
As you can see this bridge cost us 1.1 Billion US dollar. Which is only 6.15 KM.
But according to the information given by Japan, Bangladesh could build 2 more bridges like Padma Bridge with this money. From this it is understood that the state of corruption in Bangladesh. Such rampant corruption has increased the price of everything in Bangladesh market. Exports are falling short of the country's demand and unscrupulous traders are trying to form syndicates on various products. Where the people of Bangladesh are dissatisfied but the government is supporting the syndicates. This is a very clear idea. For example, eggplant in the market is usually $0.3 per kg, but in the month of Ramadan, eggplant becomes $1 per kg. In such a syndicate, instead of the government taking a stand against them and punishing them, he told the people, "You eat pumpkin instead of eggplant." Soybean oil syndicate has been launched in the market now. In 2 months soybean oil price has increased 2x from normal. So now he says "You drink water instead of oil?"
Now if I want to protest these then I am the enemy of the country, I am the man of the opposition, I am harmful to the country. In that case, I could be killed.
But I don't think people will endure for long if this continue. People will come out like Sri Lankan people did.
Thank you for reading :)
You love your country so much and this article is the proof of it. I'm sad about how large the corruption operation in Bangladesh. Hmm.
