The Titanic is not just the name of a ship, it is a sad name for us. What could have been a rare example of man-made excellence, which was said to never sink - on its very first journey to the sad Salil Samadhi Jute.

Titanic: History and the Mystery of the Sinking

The ship was named 'Titanic' after the powerful Greek god Titan. However, it was actually the short name of the ship. The full name of the ship was 'Royal Mail Steamer Titanic' for short, RMS Titanic. Construction of the Titanic began in 1906. Five years later, in 1912, the ship was declared finished. The Dutch company White Star Line built the ship at Harland & Wolf Shipyard in Belfast, UK.

Weighing 60,000 tons and measuring 265 meters, the ship cost lakh 7.5 million at the time. At the time, it was the most luxurious pleasure boat. John Pierpont Morgan, an American millionaire, and the International Mercantile Marine Co. jointly funded its construction. Such a long Titanic was as long as three football fields!

The Titanic surpassed all the ships of the time in terms of the cost of travel and beauty and elegance. Inside the Titanic was a swimming pool, gymnasium, squash court, Turkish baths, expensive cafes, and a large library for first and second class passengers. All the modern technologies of that time were integrated in this ship. The ship had a total of four lifts, including three for first class and one for second class. The most expensive first-class package to cross the Atlantic once cost about, 4,350 at the time, which is about ৮৬ 95.60 today!

Led by Edward John Smith, the then Royal Commander of England, one of the best in the world with more than 15 years of experience, the Titanic set sail for New York on April 10, 1912, from Southampton, England. On the night of April 14, the temperature of the calm sea dropped below zero degrees. The sky was clear but the moon could not be seen that night. At the signal that there was a huge floating iceberg in front, the captain of the ship turned the speed of the ship a little to the south. At around 1:45 pm that day, a ship named America warned on the radio that there was a big iceberg in front of the Titanic.

But Jack Phillips and Harold Bridge, who are in charge of radio communications at the Titanic, did not send the information to the Titanic's price control center, saying the warning was unnecessary. On the same day, another ship, the Mesaba, again warned of the huge iceberg on the way to the Titanic. But this time the message did not reach the main communication center of the Titanic due to the radio operators. At 11:40 pm, Titanic sailors saw the iceberg in front of the Titanic, but it was too late. First Officer Murdoch abruptly ordered a left turn and told the ship to sail or stop in the complete opposite direction. But the Titanic was no longer able to be saved, with the iceberg on the right continuing to be heavily rubbed. At one point, cracks appeared in about 90 meters of the Titanic.

The ship could have floated with a maximum of four water-filled compartments, but unfortunately only five compartments were flooded that night. Due to the weight of the water-filled compartments, the front of the ship is slowly sinking. Suddenly, Captain Smith came to the main control center and ordered the ship to shut down completely. The lifeboats began unloading from the Titanic around midnight on the 15th. The Titanic also sent emergency signals to various directions asking for help. One of the ships that responded was Mount Temple, Frankfurt, and the Titanic's sister Olympic. At around 2:05 pm, the entire head of the ship came down near the water.

At 02:10 the propeller is lifted up and the stern of the ship goes upwards. After a while, due to the weight, the rear of the Titanic became detached from the front and the front of the ship was completely submerged. Due to the wind, the rear part floated for a while and then disappeared into the abyss at 02:20 pm. At the same time the Titanic became a name of regret in the pages of history, forever.

One of the most amazing things about the Titanic was its band. The group, led by Wallis Hartley, first moved to the first-class lounge, then to the front of the deck, and played until the moment the ship sank to make people fearless, energetic and brave. Many people thought that there was a curse on the Titanic, because they showed the number 390904. If you change the side of the reflection in the mirror, it is NO POPE.

Titanic movie

The aftermath of the Titanic became so well-known around the world that numerous literary, dramatic, reporting films and films were made based on it. But James Cameron's Titanic movie made a name for itself at the box office. Despite the risks, he spent more than ২০০ 200 million building the Titanic. Many film critics said that the film could not make so much money. The film became so popular that it grossed nearly 1.835 billion worldwide and broke all previous records, winning 11 Oscars and six other awards the following year.

Even after so many years, people's interest in the Titanic reminds us that the Titanic actually sank - at least it continues to float in people's hearts.
