Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Shaheen Iqbal has been conferred the new rank of Admiral at a function held at Ganobhaban in the presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina this morning.

Prime Minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Mosiuzzaman Serniabat presented the new Chief of Naval Staff with the rank of Admiral.
The press secretary further said that after the badge-wearing ceremony, the new navy chief met the prime minister. The Prime Minister assured the Chief of Naval Staff of his success in discharging his duties and assured him of all possible cooperation in this regard.
