Onion prices are falling, there are no buyers in the market

Prices have started falling on the news of onion arriving from India. As a result, relief is returning to the onion market.

On Sunday, the price of onion was reduced from Tk 10 to Tk 20 per kg in various wholesale and retail markets across the country. More prices are expected to fall.

On Saturday, trucks carrying onions imported from India started entering Bangladesh through Healy land port. Onions also enter Bangladesh through the land port of Sonamasjid in Chapainawabganj. On the other hand, onion consignment has also come to the country from Myanmar.

On Saturday, domestic onions were sold at Rs 75-80 per kg in Shyambazar. It was 75 to 8 rupees the day before. The caravan market was 75 rupees. The previous day was up to 60 rupees.

Imported onions have been sold at Rs 45-50 in Shyambazar. The previous day which was more than five rupees per kg. As a result, the price of onion is also decreasing as time goes by.

It can be seen in the Kawran market that the buyers who were there before the news of onion price hike are no more. Only a handful of buyers have been seen without sellers.
