UNEMPLOYMENT Unemployment means the joblessness of those who are able and willing to work. The proportion of unemployed people displays the index of economic activity. Its ratio shows hoe human resources are being used. As the unemployed people feel deprived and rejected, it becomes a serious social problem. But it is not the problem of a particular country; it is a worldwide problem. The number of unemployed workers is constantly on the increase. Unemployment is an economic term. Employment means occupation. So unemployment means absence of employment. When the people are out of work, they are said to be unemployed. This is a problem which we face today in our country.
