It's @Saha99saha once again with a new article.😍

Today, I gonna tell you some thing about "Nationalism and Internationalism". I hope you all can learn something from my this article. 😊

Let's dive in👇

Nationalism and Internationalism are especially important in the political, economic, social and cultural context of the modern world. In the age of scientific excellence, the present world has become a global village. The development of one country and the solution of the internal problems of the state are becoming largely dependent on another country. National and international sentiments are playing an important role in developing friendly relations between one country and another.

*What is nationalism and internationalism:

Nationalism is the knowledge of belonging to a nation. To be united with the history, heritage, culture, development, progress, geographical location, socio-economic, aspiration for political liberation, etc. of that nation and to believe in the protection and development of the heritage, values, individuality of the nation concerned.

On the other hand, Internationalism, is a concept or doctrine that promotes cooperation between different states or nations on the same or different interests. Just as nationalism speaks of maintaining the internal national unity of a country within a country, so internationalism speaks of establishing relations between different independent and sovereign states of the world outside the country.

*Expression of Nationalism:

Nationalism is inextricably linked with the state system of the modern world. In today's world, every state is called a national state. Nationalism manifests itself when the people of a country are united in their own traditions of education, civilization, independence, sovereignty and cultural consciousness. In the national consciousness, the Bolian nation is sympathetic to each other and inspired by patriotism. Not all countries have the same type of nationality. Each and every nation has a special aspect of nationalism.

*Origin of Nationalism:

The idea of nationalism first appeared among the Greeks and Hebrews in ancient times. The Roman Empire was established after the Greek city-states collapsed. Nationalism completely vanished when the country was ruled by the influence of Christianity throughout the Middle Ages. Instead the idea of empire was born. Nationalism came to life anew in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, when the use of the mother tongue was on the rise in many countries, in contrast to the dominance of the Latin language. In the eighteenth century, the concept of global nationalism became entrenched. During the partition of Poland in 182, nationalist consciousness spread among the masses.

The slogan of the French Revolution of 179 - "Equality, Friendship, Freedom" further strengthens nationalism.

The late nineteenth century and the twentieth century the glorious era of nationalism. The Treaty of Versailles was signed in 1919 on the basis of post-World War I nationalism. In the same year, when the map of Europe was drawn on the basis of the nation-state, the Czech, Pol, and Slav nations got the opportunity to form a new state. After World War II, many nation-states were born in South, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Far East on the basis of nationality.

*Importance of Nationalism Consciousness:

National Consciousness plays a significant role in the development of any country or nation. Nationalism is an important step towards internationalism. A nation is first established as a nation by cultivating its distinct civilization, culture and heritage and later that nation moves towards internationalism. Nationalism serves as the inspiration for the sovereign power of an organized people within the modern state system. As a result of national consciousness, patriotism and patriotism are awakened in a person.

*Creation of Internationalism Consciousness:

By internationalism we mean the interrelationships between different countries of the world. In the present era, science is spreading in different countries in different ways. Many countries are developing economically. Some countries are again very rich socially and culturally. The modern world is a world of competition, where no state wants to be left behind. So they are being forced to develop relationships. People from one country can now easily move to another country, exchange information. People think of the whole world as their own. And this is how the international consciousness is being created.

*Importance of International Consciousness:

In today's competitive world, the importance of international consciousness is immense. In order to contribute to the country and the nation, people from different parts of the world are now crossing the borders of their respective countries and moving to other countries for higher education and research. There are 195 independent and sovereign countries in the world today. They continue to establish relations based on their own needs in the international consciousness. It plays a role in economic, political, geographical needs or sometimes in the development of interrelationships between religions, languages, clans and different countries. International consciousness depends on building a spirit of friendship among the nations of the world, overcoming various problems and crises, ensuring progress and prosperity, mutual exchange in economic and cultural matters and overall cooperation.

*The Disadvantages of Extremist-Nationalism:

Just as nationalism inspires patriotism, extremism in many cases makes the people of a country overly arrogant. For this they show hostile attitude towards other countries and stop cooperation. Many times consider themselves superior to others. Under the influence of extremist nationalism, they want to dominate other countries. The effects of extremist nationalism were felt among the Nazis in Germany during World War II. Besides, such idea was prevalent in Europe and America.

*Organizations formed as a result of internationalism:

In order to establish internationalism, mutual cooperation organizations have been formed in different countries at different times. The United Nations was formed on 24 October 1945 to ensure international peace and security in the aftermath of World War II. Currently 193 countries are working in this organization. The World Trade Organization (WTO) was established on January 1, 1995 with the aim of expanding world trade. International organizations like the Commonwealth have been formed with the country ruled by Britain. The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) was formed on September 25, 1989 for mutual cooperation between the Muslim countries. Besides, international organizations like NAM, IMF, etc. are working successfully. As a result of internationalization, many regional organizations have been formed. Cooperation between ASEAN member countries has resulted in enviable progress. As a result of global political cooperation, the European Union (EU), African Union, Arab League, etc. have been formed. G-8 (Group 08), D-8 (Developing-8), G-77, OPEC, APEC etc. have been formed as international economic alliances. NATO, IDB, ADB, NAFTA, APTA, Rotary International, Amnesty International, etc. are also working on the basis of internationalism as military, financial, service, human rights organizations.

*Bangladesh in Nationalism and Internationalism:

Bangladesh has been moving forward on the basis of Bengali nationality since the great independence of 1971. The people of Bangladesh have crossed the borders of the country and taken a place in the international arena by embracing Bengali nationalism in the politics, economy, society, culture, heritage etc. of the country. Soon after independence, Bangladesh joined the United Nations in 1974 as a member state. The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) was formed on 6 December 1985 with the participation of Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. At present, the organization is working with 6 countries including Afghanistan. Besides, Bangladesh is working with international organizations like World Trade Organization, World Health Organization, ADB, World Bank etc.

*Ending:

Development is impossible in today's world without mutual cooperation. All countries should forget their ethnic pride and extend their hand of cooperation to each other for world peace and development. Only then will the country's internal development as well as global development become possible.
