One of the most talked about issues of the present time is globalization. Through which the people of the world have brought their political, social, economic and cultural relations within their reach. As a result, the concept of nation-state has risen and the whole world has become a village.

★Definition of Globalization:

The English word "Globalization" which comes from the word Globe. Generally speaking, globalization is a process through which the world is coordinated or the world is unified.

Defining globalization, Red Wood said, "Globalization is the creation of a single world market."

"Globalization is a process of bringing all people into the community as a whole," said Martin Albro.

★Origin of globalization:

The term globalization came into being after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. From a historical point of view, globalization originated in the late 70's, when the Club of Rome announced the unlimited growth of the Western model on economic development. Through which the same world boundaries and the same world community have been created in the world today.

★Objectives of Globalization:

The main objective of the concept of globalization is to enact laws related to the market, reduce government expenditure and control and bring the concept of government property under the purview of the private sector. But now the goal of globalization is to end the Cold War, to establish the dominance of democracy and market economy over the socialism and controlled economy of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.

★Characteristics of Globalization:

Globalization is advancing at a tremendous pace in today's world. It has some unique features. E.g.

- Globalization is a complex and long process.

- Globalization is controlled by technology.

- Globalization is a changing issue.

- Globalization has given birth to neo-colonialism in a new way.

- Globalization has brought the world under control by bridging the gap between all the worlds.

- Globalization acts as the bearer and carrier of imperialism.

- Globalization has played a role in changing the production system.

- FU, AU, ASEAN have created various international organizations to cooperate with each other.

- There is no similarity in the pace of globalization.

★Benefits of Globalization:

Globalization is an international process. There are several benefits to this process:

1. Development of international relations.

2. In the development of free market economy.

3. Proliferation of large-scale activities.

4. A combination of knowledge and skills.

5. Improving communication and information technology.

★Disadvantages of Globalization:

In addition to the benefits of globalization, some of its disadvantages can also be noticed. They are-

1. Increasing economic inequality.

2. Creation of unequal competition.

3. The collapse of the education system.

4. Protecting privacy is difficult.

5. Cultural crisis.

★What we need to do:

Developing countries like ours need to take some steps to survive in this intense competition of globalization. E.g.

- Incentive activities and investment should be increased in the development of information technology.

- In order to increase the efficiency of manpower, special role should be played in the field of education, health and safety.

- Educated unemployed should be employed by taking initiative for technology based industrialization.

- In all cases, the proper use of the rule of law to prevent corruption must be ensured.

- Effective initiatives must be taken to alleviate poverty.

The creation of globalization to see the world in the same mirror. Although globalization has some negative effects or evils, it is moving at its own pace. Therefore, it is the duty of third world countries like ours to keep a close eye on its negative aspects and reap the benefits of its positive aspects.
