Violence against women is one of the biggest problems in our country now. The horror of violence against women in our country has frightened any sane person.

Not only that, the Prime Minister of the present Government of Bangladesh, the Leader of the Opposition, the Speaker, the Minister of Agriculture, the Deputy Leader of the ruling party in Parliament are all women.

Overall, the condition of women is still marginalized. Although, women have to live in a safe environment, the country's development is not possible. Not only the country's development but, also the adverse effects of violence against women in family, social and personal life can be noticed.

And when the main driving force in child rearing and marital happiness is abused, it must be understood that the nation is going through a critical period in its family and personal life as well.

So ,we have to do something against the oppression of women.

Violence against women First of all ,we need to raise public awareness. We need to educate and build women. We need to give them employment opportunities .So that ,they can become self-reliant. We need to take necessary steps against the dowry system.

Women should not be given equal opportunities with men according to their job qualifications. They should be given specific quotas for employment. Women should be given a suitable environment in the workplace. All materials that are physically harmful to women should be discontinued.

We have to stop the polygamy and ensure the mental stability of women. Child marriage has to be stopped.

But ,we cannot do it unilaterally that violence against women can only be stopped by law. We have to realize that violence against women can only be stopped through the overall efforts of all.
