The black heart of the one you know: Part 2
Nathan jumped up. Did he have fantasies again?
The voice, which had a trembling and weak tone, said:
- Help me!... the basement.
With his heart pounding in his chest, Nathan lit a candle with trembling hands, took it in his hand, and left his room.
As his big shadow fell on the walls and created a terrifying sight, he went up the stairs one by one until he finally reached the basement and faced an old wooden door. There was a big lock on the door. Nathan stared helplessly at the lock and wondered what to do next.
- There is a loose stone on the floor around there. The key is below it.
Nathan checked each and every stone of the floor around there with his feet until he found the loose stone. He bent down, removed it, and was faced with a rusty iron key. He took the key, went to the door and opened it.
While the flickering light of the candle illuminated only a small part of the space inside the room, he stepped inside.
The voice said happily.
- You came!
Nathan went forward and saw in front of him a man whose hands were chained on both sides to large iron rings on the wall. The man's head was down and covered with long, greasy, messy black hair. His shirt and pants were so dirty that the color was not clear.
Nathan stepped forward, bent down and called out to the man.
- Hey!
The man raised his head and Nathan's eyes widened from what he saw. The man's face was wrinkled like a dried apple and his eyes were sunken. He said with a voice full of pain.
- Please open the chains.
While still staring at this strange creature, Nathan went to one of the rings that the chain was attached to. But then he paused and said to himself:
- What am I doing? I have no idea what this creature is and why he is locked up here... His pitiful condition makes me sad, but what if he is really dangerous?
The creature said restlessly:
- What are you waiting for? release me soon.
Nathan bit his lower lip.
- I am sorry! I can't do this.
And then he hurried out of the cell, locked the door, put the key under the loose stone, climbed the stairs, got himself to his room, lied on his bed and tried to ignore the voice of the creature that kept calling his name and asking for help.
Moments later, he saw himself standing in the cell and the chained creature was in front of him.
- Come on, Nathan. Come and set me free Can't you see that I am suffering?
Nathan said with a trembling voice.
- I can't do this.
- You can do this, you must do this.
Involuntarily, Nathan stepped forward and untied both chains. The creature heaved a sigh of relief and began to shake his shoulders and arms to relieve the stiffness in his muscles. Then he turned to Nathan and smiled.
- Thank you.
And he rushed towards Nathan, opened his mouth and sunk his long fangs into his neck.
