The Balkans are too often associated with conflict, and too little with the gastronomic scene. But that could change soon, writes the British Telegraph, because Balkan food is becoming a new hit on the gastronomic scene.

British lovers of good food are increasingly interested in offering Balkan dishes. Rick Stein's new culinary show , as well as the chef 'From Venice to Istanbul' by the famous chef , leads from the shores of the eastern Mediterranean in search of authentic dishes, including Croatian delicacies and Albanian roast lamb, all the way to Venetian delicacies.

Chef Yotam Ottolenghi is also interested in the culinary offer of this part of the world , and the British retail chains Waitrose and Ocado are also showing interest in Balkan food, so Macedonian ajvar can also be found on their shelves.

Ajvar also caught Ottolenghi's eye, and he uses it in a recipe for Bosnian kebabs, but also for Jamie Oliver - and he sells it in his web shop.

The British have become interested in the Balkans, which they have not encountered so far, especially when it comes to the gastronomy of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia and Macedonia.

Balkan cuisine is seasonal and is dominated by local ingredients. Each of these countries is proud of its specialties, but you will again find some similar dishes in each of them. The Balkans is a fertile region, and the dishes are based on fresh produce, although there is no way you can escape their love of grilled meat. Kebabs can be found on every street in every city ', chef Philip Evans explained for the Telegraph , and he imports Macedonian food products to Great Britain. In Macedonia, Evans points out, rice dishes are popular, and they put it in a lot of dishes, including the famous specialty - sarma.

The famous London restaurant Peckham Bazaar offers Balkan specialties and is run by John Gionlek, of Albanian descent. He says grilled meat is an art form in the Balkans, and his personal favorite dishes are burek and roasted Albanian lamb. According to Gionleka, the key ingredients for Balkan cuisine are olive oil, oregano, garlic, paprika, fresh fruits and vegetables, and a 'thrifty hand' that will combine all this well.

Then please comment down. Do you love Balkan food. If you love?? What are you love!???
