Animal Cruelty

Who's a dog lover here? A cat lover, or a Lion lover? What about a bird, a snake (oh that's scary!) or anything that you can pet?

Some of you here is a a pet lover, and some is not, some is afraid to have a pet because of trauma, and some people just don't care about animals, there are also some who wants a pet but they can pet them because of some allergies and some is an animal abuser.

There are many reasons why some people abuse animals. But first, let us see the meaning of Animal Cruelty.

What is Animal Cruelty

Animal Cruelty also called animal abuse, Cruelty to animals or animal neglect, animal abuse can include purposely hurting or harming an animal. But, it also refers to situations where a human fails to properly take care of an animal under their care. This means that neglecting or you fail to take care of an animal is considered a form of abuse.

According to PETA animal cruelty is not just a sign of a minor personality flaw in the abuser; they are a characteristics of a deep mental disturbance.

Research in psychology and criminology shows that people who commit or do a cruelty to animals don’t stop into just killing animals, many of them also target Humans.

Animal Cruelty is often categorize into two types: active and passive.

1. Active Cruelty (Acts of Commission) hint a malicious intent, where a person has purposely and intentionally caused harm to an animal. Intentional cruelty are the most troubling or alarming and should be considered signs of serious psychological problems. This type of behavior is always connected with sociopathic behavior (person with antisocial personality disorder) and should be taken very seriously.

• Example: Flexing their power by killing an animals and used them to intimidate or threaten their victim or to just psychologically torture them.

1. Passive Cruelty (Acts of Omission) typically a cases of neglect, where the crime is a lack of action rather than the action itself but, do not let the term fool you. Severe animal neglect or fail to care can cause incredible pain and suffering to an animal.

• Example: Not taking proper care of animals, starve them, dehydrate them by not giving water, they ignore if an animal has an parasite infestation, not taking care of the collar and just letting it to grow into them, no proper shelter and never take into a vet for proper medication.

This is where other people fails when it comes to humanity, sometimes, animals is more humanely than us. I'm not saying that all animals are like that, I know that there are some animal that can eat a human alive, it's just that we have mind, we can understand very well, we know what we are doing and we can think. We can do better than that right, punishing animals for your own desire is a big sin. Striking them to death, dragging them using your wheels, purposely hitting them with cars, killing them using some tools and eating, my gosh this really saddened me the most.

Dog or Cats or any other Creatures has a life too, they deserve to live, they deserve some love and tender loving care. They have feelings too, they can feel pain, why do you think they are crying when someone hurt them, they are a unique creation of God, so WHY? Why they do such thing, hurting them and neglecting them.

I don't understand those people who can hurt an animals, there are so many like that, Do they feels a satisfaction when they hurt them? Human sometimes is worse than an animals, it is sad. Everytime I watch a video of someone in Facebook, beating a dog I feel like crying, how on earth they can do that? I mean they are the sweetest and the cutest creature in earth, they can be your best friend, companion when you have no one, some people even treat their pet as their own, as their daughter or son, a family.

I don't know if all of your watch this but it's all over the news. It's about the "China's Yulin Dog Meat Festival," images of the dogs or even cats scattered in all sites, abandoned dogs, some are stolen and they will sell it to a butchers, even a baby dog in a cage, they will skin them, cooked and will served as their food. They are cruelest ever.

They are not your food, they have life too, they breath, they feels and they care too.

IF YOU SEE SOMEONE BEATING A DOG, A CAT OR ANY OTHER ANIMALS OR KILLING THEM TO MAKE IT THEIR FOOD YOU CAN ACTUALLY REPORT THEM IN PHILIPPINES. There is a law for maltreating animals here in Philippines,

PUNISHMENT

Imprisonment of 6 months to 1 year and/or a fine not exceeding P30,000.00 for subjecting any animal to cruelty, maltreatment or neglect but without causing its death or incapacitating it to survive on its own.

There is also an organization who is helping those animals like dog, cat, horses, and many more animals that can be saved in Philippines, abandoned, those who experience a maltreatment, they are rescuing them and take into veterinarian for medication, they take into shelter give them foods and they were look for the rescued animals an owner.

My Lovely Dog

I'm a dog lover, I like cat too but not that much. I have a dog before, we name him Joko, I was in college that time. He was actually given to us by my mom's friend. I love him so much that when I eat, I always leave a big part of my food to him, he's so spoiled to me. When I get back home from school, he will always wag his tail, and scream too like we didn't see each other for a century, he's always like that, that's why I love him so much, he's the sweetest. We sleep in one bed, he's sleeping beside me.

But, something happened to him, I don't know but when I'm taking him outside to pee, his pee is color black, and when I search about it on Google, it says that it's a urinary infection, something like that. We didn't take him to a veterinarian because we don't have that in our place and it's expensive too I'm sure. He didn't last that long, he won't drink and eat, his favorite milk with rice, he just ignore all of it. I think 4 or 5 days before I discovered it, he died. It's 5:30 am that time, I can hear his crying and I'm crying too, his breathing is... So I got out from bed, then I whisper to him while tapping his hair, "It's okay now baby, you can rest now, I'm okay, we're okay, go on." After that, he took his last breath and he's gone, June 2, 2017 that's the exact date, 5:30 am.

I cried so hard that time, me and mom, we've been together for almost 4 years, he's my best buddy so it pains me to see him dying. I really cried a river that time, I was digging his grave, my tears is still falling even my uhog, my gosh. Since then I didn't tried again to pet a dog, I mean as in mine, my real mom has a dog, she has 7, it should be just 5 but then, because she's a kind hearted person she also took care the dog of our neighbor, that 2 puppy is dying actually, they won't eat and their poop has a blood, but because of her perseverance in taking care of them, they live, lucky them.

What I'm saying is, can't you treat them better? If you saw them give them food, if your afraid to them leave quietly you don't need to kick them or throw some stone to them, ignore and go to your way, if you saw a dog hit by a car stop by and take care of him, if you saw an abandoned animals treat them or report to some organization who is helping an abandoned animals, and NEVER EAT THEM.
