Aftermath of Typhoon Quinta in Oriental Mindoro and another LPA

Another typhoon lash on Oriental Mindoro Philipppines yesterday, we still don't have electricity, there are so many power poles fell because of typhoon and repairing it may take more days or even a week to be repaired. We are still lucky compared to others but the experience is so my gosh, scary.

We are so afraid that our roof might fly because the wind is so mad that time. We can't do anything but to just Pray. I feel like there is a tornado yesterday because the wind is so hard, I feel like they want our roof because everytime the wind will blow with its super duper ultra mega strong air, our roof will make a noise like they want to go with the wind, it's so scary. Aside from the strong wind, there is also the heavy rain, it's like raining a sand than water.

We are not just thinking that our roof might fly but also, we are really close in a river that is why we are also afraid to that because if ever the river overflow our house will be affected, specially my Mama's house, she's residing just at the back of my Mom's house, and my Mama's house is so low, I mean it is leveled to the river. Good thing is, there is a wall in every side of the river so, if ever the river flooded it will not affect immediately because of the wall. She experience it already before, all of her things got wet because she is not in Mindoro that time, she has a second floor actually but the water still reach it, and her things that I bring to the second floor still got wet, thats why we are so afraid that it might happen again.

This is not all, what we are afraid also is the big coconut tree in the backyard. My Mama wants it to be cut but my Mom wont agree to it, she has a reason, and that reason is, if we take down the coconut tree, we will be flooded easily, the water wont subside immediately because no one will sip the water anymore, and I agree to it. But, if the tree fall, the other part of my Mama house will be damage. The house is still new like just 1 year, the money she used to it is my Sister death claim but we cant do anything about it, we are just praying that, Mr. Coconut will still withstand more bad storm that will land here, but I really hope and pray that this will be the last though its impossible because there is another LPA or Low Pressure Area that the DOST Pagasa is eyeing.

Whole people here in Mindoro experience the lash of Typhoon Quinta, it didn't even that long since the last typhoon Ursula land here,

This is the aftermath of Typhoon Ursula to our place last year, floods and the tree that falls into my Mama's kitchen roof. Just last year, we didn't even reach 1 year since Ursula land here and then we experience another, this is really sad and there is another one coming.

This was taken yesterday, look at the river just a little bit more and it will flow, good thing the rain lie low and will stop before pour again. We are so afraid that all of our things that can be affected if ever the rivers flow and flood was putted into higher place, like our clothes, appliances important documents and more. We prepared anything, if ever we need to evacuate we have our things prepared already. We have so many things that we are afraid off of happening

I don't know if it's legit or not or if anyone heard it before but, when the strong wind that likes a tornado is still lashing, my Mom ask me to get a "Walis Tingting" or broom and when I handed it to her, she go to the window and wag the broom, like shes cutting or something. She told me that when there is a strong wind and that wind is like a tornado that will fly your roof, just do that so that the wind will be cut, something like that or if you don't have a broom then use "Itak" or "Gulok," like a big long knife. Have you heard it before? I think something like this went viral before in facebook where there is a wind like tornado, he's just wagging a "Gulok" so that the tornado wont pass to their house. When your family is in stake you will really resort to anything just to save them, just like what tatay did is this video, he just did what he believe is good for them. Before this video went viral, I know this beliefs already because of my mom and shes doing it everytime that there is a typhoon that will land here, and that is since when I was a kid.

All of the Barangay here in Mindoro experience the Typhoon Quinta, and the result is so appalling. Many lost their home but all of us are safe, and that's the most important. We lost our home but we can build one again, I'm sure help from the Government will arrive again soon. Free roofings, free wood and free nail again, and we can gain built our home. Let's praise God because there is no casualties.

Not just in Mindoro but to some Provinces also. But we Filipinos are a fighter, so we won't just cry because of this. We can surpass this, we can survive this is just a test, we can do this.

The LPA or Law Pressure Area is now developed into Tropical Depression. The Tropical Depression will be given a local name "ROLLY."

"Rolly" is now a Typhoon, let's hope and Pray that this new typhoon will move outside of the Philippines area and just disappear. 🙏🙏

ORIENTAL MINDORO IS NOW DECLARED AS IN STATE OF CALAMITY BECAUSE OF TYPHOON QUINTA. IT WAS DECLARED TODAY OCTOBER 27, 2020.
