An internal crisis is when a person is experiencing great struggle and conflict within, thereby leading to a state of confusion and frustration. It is a state when a person is losing or have lost his/her internal peace or self.t
This is primarily generated when a person is going through what I called "the conflict of thoughts".
An internal crisis is more dangerous than an external crisis because it causes more harms and damages than an external crisis. As much as an external crisis is bad, an internal crisis is more dangerous and it kills many valuable treasures like visions, dreams, ambitions, love, peace, joy, glory, and purpose in a person. When a person is having an internal crisis, handling an external crisis will be so frustrating. But a person who has internal peace can handle any external crisis regardless of how complicated it may be.
A person who is experiencing an internal crisis will not have proper coordination of his/her life. Also, such a person will be losing gradually his/her person and sanity until he/she enters into a state of bitterness and low definition of life.
At times, a person going through an internal crisis speaks uncontrollably because he/she is using that as a medium to clear his/her thoughts. In the same vein, such a person acts irrationally, behaves uncoordinatedly, lives in isolation, and spills out venom when he/she is offended. Besides, such a person loses his/her mental power and his/her ability to use his mental judgement is affected. People who are always bitter at little provocation are a good example of this subject.
What then is the root cause of the internal crisis?
Guilt!
Yes, guilt!
Guilt is a very destructive force. It gradually dissipates the life of its possessor. Guilt is an inner feeling of doing something wrongly. Guilt is a spiritual force and always takes its root at the deepest part of the human's mind.
It is often like this: "why did you do that?" "Can you see how hopeless you are?" "How can you claim to be holy by thinking these thoughts?", and many more. When thoughts like these are received and not countered with stronger thoughts, guilt sets in immediately.
Guilt is like a seed that produces fear, condemnations, rejection, hatred to oneself and finally death when is it watered. Death in this context is not the physical dropping of breath. Death simply means separation. Again, separation here does not mean staying away physically from people or place. A person can be in a place and with people but yet be separated.
Separation is when is a person is not truly connected to God, a place, and his/her people in his mind-mentally, emotionally or psychosomatically, and it is as a result of a guilty conscience.
So, to overcome the internal crisis, it is very imperative to fight every thought that leads to a guilty conscience with a greater and stronger thought. Thoughts are powerful, and thoughts cannot be destroyed by external things like drinks, games, exercise and the likes. It takes a thought to destroy a thought. Using any external things to deal with thought will only create a temporal relief. It is still going to come back! But when a stronger thought generated from God's word is employed, contrary thoughts die naturally.
Lastly, let your mind be saturated with truth. What you do cannot make God do away with you. His love for you is stronger than your error and mistakes put together. As much as God want us to live right, what endeared him to us is not our living right but his love. God is not a slave-maker, neither is he up there trying to pick every of your offence. Not at all! Mistakes are part of life. That's what makes us human and not God. Therefore, let this truth remain in you "HIS LOVE FOR YOU IS GREATER AND STRONGER THAN ALL YOUR MISTAKES"
