(Chorus)
Za’u oe ftu iknimaya (I come from the stairway to heaven)
Nìftxavang ting mikyun, ting nari (with all your heart, listen, look)
Tompayä kato, tsawkeyä kato (the rhythm of the rain and sun)
Sì’ekong te’lanä oeru teya si (and the beat of the hearts fill me)
You guys know the feeling of a good language when someone used it to sing a whole song? This is what I feel about this song. It's a very powerful song, especially since it is sung like a chant. But one might ask, what's Na'vi? Where is it from? And why does it sound like broken English?
Simple, it's from James Cameron's Avatar. The language is used by the natives in the movie, and it was made by the same creator as the Barsoomian language in John Carter (2012). The creator, Paul Frommer, is currently actually developing the language as the moment as part of the Avatar series and to make it usable in common life. There is a community of Avatar fans that specifically help in using Na'vi, and it's the LearnNa'vi Community. I'm also there, but I've never mastered how to say the /r/'s right, and my studies have stalled. Never really needed to study it fully.
Maisy Kay herself learned from one of the good speakers of Na'vi in their community discord, Neytiri.
Something is uplifting with the tone of the song. It brings out a primitive spark of joy that shows how brilliant people can be. It's a lesson also calls out for listening to the goodness in our hearts and it's brilliant. It's a song of hope for our future.
For the last part of this article, I will show you the original song itself. It's free of use, after all, and only needs credits to be used.
I found a light inside me
I wanna let it glow
Keep shining bright beside me
