PSA: Unsure about the new faucet/crypto invite? Ask for transaction proof!

This is gonna be another short PSA, not because I have nothing to say about it, but because it's really important right now.
Let's have a small scenario. You're a newcomer to the crypto community, and you don't have any cash. The first thing you should do, of course, is not searching for any free bitcoin faucet websites (See my PSA about scams). It's also not approaching every faucet/group referral links immediately. You need to know how to determine which faucet is real and which is not. One of the best ways to learn is to ask for actual transaction proof.
Why? Bitcoin's blockchain is a public ledger (those are two different websites). This means that any transaction is public (in the form of public addresses, their transactions, and also other smaller things like transaction fees, the messages, etc.) and it means that their screenshots must have some sort of truth. Or do they?
These days, you can fake everything. Heck, I even thought about faking a transaction by recreating the whole transaction hash, make it output a legit-looking transaction, and tadaa. But that's the beauty of cryptocurrency, you can't do that without going through hoops.
So, you need to be able to do the following if you were approached or want to approach things like these.
Get someone who uses it.
Get their transaction record (ask by showing a link from one of the Bitcoin/Ethereum blockchains with visible transaction ID).
Verify transaction ID.
(Optional) Verify the date of the transaction.
(Optional) Verify the Addresses used in the transaction record.
This system isn't foolproof, however. Others can send others' transactions and claim it as there's. Then it all comes down to asking other Cryptocurrency community members instead. But be vigilant!
