Snakes in the House back Home.
Our old house π‘ was built in a place where many sunflowers used to grow. Even the snake plants, we have them as well. Trees also, like: star apple, guyabano tree, guava tree, mango tree, avocado tree, lemon tree and other plants. Perfect for the snakes' hiding spots. π We used to have iguanas living on the avocado tree too. π¦ Our house in the province back then was like a forest. Blessed with many plants. But now, it's different.
When we were kids, we saw many snakes entering our houses. But do you know what, they were harmless. Why? Because, no one in our family were ever bitten. We even believed in the reincarnation of our ancestors. Especially my father. Snakes would even enter our cabinets. So when we see it, my dad will just give the snake some wine or rice wine, he talks to the snake and that's it. It will be gone after.
Several times, while we sit at our door step, snakes would even escape from it. Surprisingly, they did not bite us. Maybe, one factor is their behavior. That when we harm snakes, or if they sense danger, then they will fight back. But snakes could also become traitors. Well I don't know. Let's leave it to the experts. Hehe.
Here's the bad news, I have an old classmate in elementary that died because of the snake's bite. So shocking. It was a king cobra snake. Here's the rumor: It was getting darker on the mountains when he was about to go home. His phone's battery was drained so he didn't have any flashlight. That was when he stepped on the king cobra snake that bit him. The snake didn't remove its fang from his leg, so he removed the snake and killed it with his bolo (big knife). And then wrapped his leg with a cloth. He was still able to walk home despite that. He brought home the king cobra snake, leaving it to the neighbors and went straight to the clinic. They cleaned his wound and went home after. But night time came and he was rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, he was declared dead on arrival. Too early to die. May he rest in peace.
How do you deal with snakes entering your house? Do you kill it?
Snakes in the City
It was different when I was here in the city. One time (during my college years), when I opened my door, I was surprised by that small snake at my doorstep. It was little but it got me scared. I got the scissor and killed it. Oh, sorry for the snake lovers out there. I was really scared, it could have bit me if I did not do that.
Many times, when I walk on the road also, I could see some lifeless snakes. They got killed. Whew.
Let's always be careful with snakes. Whew.
Thanks for reading my simple article again. See you next time. God bless everyone.
There was a time when we found one snake near our kitchen door :D
