This would be the continuation of the first part which is :

100 Days of Sunlight: A Book Review. Pt. 1

Kindly read that first part first to know the basic story of this book!

This would be more of a rant, review, my thoughts about the book, etc.

100 day's of sunlight.

My review (may contain spoilers)

I'd start off by saying that I like this book, since it's not the typical high school romance and yada yada.

Things that I'm not a huge fan about this book.

So for me, the way that Weston just thought of going to Tessa to help her even tho she clearly didn't want the help is kinda - like he didn't even know this girl. He just heard that she got into accident and Then suddenly he's soooo eager to help her out.

Then he goes out of his way to go to Tessa's house just because he wanted to. xD

That same day he went and met Tessa because, he was able to convince Tessa's grandparents yada yada.

and of course Tessa will burst with anger when a boy suddenly pops out of nowhere and wanting to be your ghostwriter. But since he's this eager boy who is full of optimism, he didn't care and just proceed to come to Tessa's house every day, LMAO.

Also, the story of how Weston loses his legs are really-lack of a better word, let's just say, foolish. Lol. Just like he told him self in the book xD.

So he loses his legs because he wanted to perform this crazy stunt with his skateboard in front of his friends by jumping off the fricking roof. He then injured himself in the fence when he jumped from the roof. °-°

But since he didn't want to get in trouble with his parents, he decided to just hide it and shrug it off. He thought it was just some simple wound, and he can handle it himself. But days passed, and he literally said the wound (almost healed by now) is hurting so much and feels like it's on fire. But since it looked like it's already almost healed, he chooses to shrug it off. Like whaaaat- instead of telling his mother he instead went and just drink about 4 Advil a day:') and you already know that this wouldn't end well. Stuff happened, and his mom finally knew about it, so they went to a doctor.

But the first doctor didn't get the right findings, so days again passed, and it has only gotten worse, so they went to the doctor again when Weston suddenly experienced excruciating pain. The doctor found out that the wound got an infection, and has gone too far in his body, so they have no choice, But had to cut off his legs off:,>

that's what you get kids when you wanna do crazy things just to awe your friends, and for hiding things to your parents;) jk not jk HAHAHA

but like seriously. Don't do crazy shiz that would put you in danger just because you want to awe your friends. Sure, they'll think you're cool, but is it worth it? I most certainly don't think so.

There's also this scene months after. He already went back to school and of course he is exempted to P.E class. You already know why.

But he really wanted to do the exam for the P.E class, but his teachers wouldn't let him. He then talked to his P.E teacher directly to talk to him, but as expected, the teacher couldn't do anything as well. So when no one was in the gym class, he took off his prosthetics and went WALL CLIMBING. WITHOUT HARNESS WHATSOEVER. He thought his befriend was the one who caught him, so he went on ranting about the school and teacher, how he could prove that he can do it, yada yada.

But the teacher was actually the one who caught him. So that convinced the teacher that he can do the P.E exams. :) Instead of stopping him from doing such a dangerous act, he just stood there and watched??

What the actual frick? What was soooo dangerous. And why did the teacher didn’t do anything when he was wall climbing, without his prosthetics, without harnessing whatsoever. That’s a very dumb, unrealistic scene right there.

The next thing that I dread about this book is when Tessa was bout to get her eyesight back. About 90-ish days in, (getting nearer to Tessa getting back her eyesight) he thought that Tessa would no longer need her, how Tessa will dislike him once Tessa saw his disability. So he ghosted her after literally kissing her:'>

Like that part of the book when the 2 MC will have a misunderstanding, yada yada. Like girl, I really hate those parts with a passion.

That ends my rant about the things I didn't really love about the book.

Now let's proceed to the parts that I like about the book.

Things i like about this book.

First I really like Tessa, because there's a lot of aspects about her that can relate to.

I also like the poems tessa made, though there was only so few in the book and i wished it had more since Tessa is a poet in the story. heres my fav poem of her from the book:

Sunlight is exuberant. Thunderstorms are passionate. Two extremes, and so much better than nothing at all. Cloudy skies are like nothing at all. Apathetic. Numb. The feeling you feel when you have no idea what you feel. When everything has gone so wrong, it no longer feels wrong. There suddenly is no right or wrong. There’s just emptiness. It would be better for the clouds to cry, or better for the sun to shine. But curse this bearing wall where the sky is nothing at all.

—Tessa

Tessa's mean attitude towards Weston at the start was understandable. i mean who wouldn't get mad right? one day its like you suddenly lost everything.

But this optimistic boy appeared out of nowhere, contradicting to what i said in the things i said in my little rant above, i love how eager weston is, how he didn't stop despite tessa pushing him away. if it wasn't for Weston- she might have not get through the challenge she's facing

I also Love how Weston pushes Tessa to get out of her comfort zone, he was able to take tessa out when she still hasn't got her eyesight back despite her refusing to even set foot outside before. be her literal buddy. make tessa see the light again. like, my boy Weston really did all that for a girl he just met recently. and lastly, he made her fall in love with him ayieeee~

and when Weston loses his legs when he was 13, that also turned his life upside down. imagine being this cool awesome kid suddenly loses his legs.. he had every right to be in despair. think that the world turns its back against him.

But he chooses not to. being in despair is a choice, as he said. its either you drown your self in the pit of despair or stand up. if you hit rock bottom the only other way is up, right?

being in despair is the much easier choice, lets admit it. but do you want to just stay knock down in the cold floor or would you rather stand up even tho it's hard?

Here is what Weston said:

The second road was rocky, hard, and painful. It was challenging. It was unnatural. It was a mountain range. It was a fighting ring, a boxing match with Life. It was a road that would make me stronger, even if it hurt. This road was called Happiness. It tasted like insanity, like How can I possibly be happy when I have every right to be miserable?

—Weston

The other quote from this book that i like:

So much has been taken away from me. Yet, at the same time, I can’t help but wonder if I’ve taken it away from myself. Am I choosing this? Choosing to sit on the floor and cry? Am I choosing to be defeated?

—Tessa

With all that said, I'll give this book. 4.5 stars ⭐ as my rating. Some parts was really un realistic but the rest is wonderful. I love the story, the morals of it and everything as a whole.

I definitely recommend this to you guys!
