Thesis is the important part of university degree.Basically thesis is the research work in which student of every department do research on the topic that's related to their subject.As am botany student, botany is the study of plants so my research work is on the plants. Some years ago thesis not complusory for M.S.c and BS student. It's depend on students wish either they do thesis work or not. Now also in some universities it's on student wish to do thesis or not. But according to Higher Education Commission (HEC) rules, now thesis is complusory for those students whose CGPA is greater than 3.0. As my CGPA is greater than 3 so it's also complusory for me as i didn't want to do thesis.

As you know coronavirus spread in different countries of the world and mostly there is lockdown all around the world. Covid-19 also effected my country badly so that our classes are held online. Due to severe condition of the coronavirus, thesis of all departments of our university are cancelled. But our head of department too much strict he said that there is no degree for those students who didn't complete the research work. So i prepared my mind for thesis.

Basically Our Thesis Work Started Within Seventh Semester Of BS Botany:

Our seventh semester of BS Botany started in the end of December, so in starting we just busy our theory classes. In the mid of January, the teacher which are the head of our research work made a study group and add all of us and ordered us every weekend we discussed our research topic on the video call with her. Then we talked on video call with the teacher for three weeks.But we understand things face to face much better than video call.

In starting mam told us to search out the different medicinal plants that are found in our areas. As she is ethnobotany teacher (ethno means "medicine" and botany means "study of plants"). So collectively the ethnobotany means the branch of biology/botany which is used to study the importance of plants medicinally. That is how we used different plants for making medicines. As you know most of the medicines are made by plants. So teacher wanted to perform research work from us on medicinal plants.

So in starting teacher gave me topic to check out which plants are good or beneficial for hepatitis disease and said that the plant which is best for hepatitis disease I assigned you that plant as a research work . I searced on it but not found too much data about it. So my research topic is not selected at that time and due to some reason our thesis work is postponed.

Teacher Contacted With Us After Seventh Semester And Assigned Thesis Research Topic:

As she is teacher so there are too much responsibilities for her. So when our seventh semester is ended and we are free from our examination, teacher contacted with us and said that students let's start to carry on your research work. First of all she assigned us thesis research topic and dandelion is selected as mine research topic. She said us to comtact with her on call but later on teacher asked us to come in university once in a week with your laptops and we carry on your work face to face. She is so cooperative teacher and know that student are not understand things much better on video call. So she called us on university once in a week.

Am So Happy That Dandelion Is My Research Topic:

Am so happy that's dandelion is my thesis research topic because its my favorite plant because of its beautiful yellow flowers. Dandelion is just grown in the end of Feburary month and start of spring season. Basically these flowers are the symbol of spring season. In spring season our area is richly covered with dandelion flowers and whole spring season am deeply observed it. So am super excited when mam assigned me it as thesis research topic. So i start searching about it, that from which family it's belong and how it's medicinally important.

I searched on it and increase my knowledge. I know about dandelion that it is a weed that's medicinally too much important. The dandelion leaves, stems, flowers,roots and each and everything is medicinally too much important . Here are its some medicinal Importance:

•Dandelion provide antioxidants.

•Its helpful in reducing cholesterol.

•Regulate blood sugar.

•Reducing Inflammation.

•Lower blood pressure.

•Dandelion reduce cancer risk.

•Its boosting the immune system.

•Helpful in aiding digestion.

•Dandelion is also beneficial for keeping skin healthy.

•Dandelion leaf and flower is also used as vegetable and for making tea which is folk remedy for urinary tract infection.

•Morever, dandelion is also a good source of vitamins, beta carotene and various minerals like magnesium, calcium, iron and zinc.

Although dandelion is the best medicinal plant and research on it too much easy so am happy.

After Finding Lots Of Medicinal Importance Of Dandelion Last Week When Am Going To The Plant Then What Happened:

When last week am gone to the university to discuss my research topic with teacher. Then teacher asked me go and collect dandelion leaves and flowers, then dried it and made its powder we do some experiment on it. Me wonderful because dandelion is just grown in the spring season and now there is no dandelion plant. Me told this problem to teacher, she told me to change the plant because without practical work there is no research work. Me little bit sad but now nothing will happen so i start choosing another plant.

After A Lots Of Research I Choose Aak Plant (Calotropis gigantea) :

After dandelion experiment, me decided to choose such a plant that commonly found in our area so i choose this plant because it's commonly found in my village and I don't like this plant too much because of its bad smell and poisonous nature. This plant is best for diabetics patient. Teacher said me next time you will come in university, then take its dried leaves and flowers in the university then we make its powder and doing some experiments on it. So in past few days i was going to the fields for the collection of its flowers and leaves and now tomorrow me will go to the university for further experiment.
