Our national flag is our identity.
It is the symbol of our independence and prosperity.
The shape of our national flag is rectangular. There is a red circle in the middle of green.
The ratio of the length and width of the flag is 10: 6. Kamrul Hasan is the designer of our national flag.
The flag contains two beautiful colour-red and bottle green. It is hoisted on different national occasions.
It was first hoisted on the premises of the University of Dhaka on the 2 March, 1971.
The design of that flag was a little bit different.
Then the map of Bangladesh was in the middle of green colour.
Now the flag contains a red circle in the middle which symbolises the blood of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our country in 1971.
Again the green colour of remaining partly stands for the greenery of the country.
National flag encourages us to be united to keep up the honour of our country. It is also the symbol of our sovereignty.
We gained this flag by the martyrdom of 30 lakh people. In fact, it is made with a piece of cloth, but made of blood.
