Clomipramine is used to treat symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder, such as compulsive thoughts and compulsive behavior.
It may also be used to treat other conditions not mentioned, such as depression, anxiety disorder, and panic disorder.

Correct use of the drug:
Take the medicine as your doctor has told you. Take each dose with a full glass of water.
Clomipramine is taken either in several doses during the day or as one daily (often at bedtime).
You may not feel better for four weeks or more, but do not stop taking the medication before telling your doctor first.
Missed dose:
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it . If it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and then complete the medication according to your normal schedule. Do not deal with a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
Storage:
Keep this medication in the container it came in . Tightly sealed, and out of reach of children .
Store at room temperature and away from excessive heat and moisture. Throw out any medicine that has expired or no longer needed.
Possible side effects:
Anorexia. Minor nausea. Ringing in the ears.
weakness. - commotion. Muscle twitching or cramping
Dry mouth. - a headache. Lethargy and dizziness.
Allergic reactions: difficulty breathing, blockage in the throat, swelling of the lips, face or tongue.
Warnings / Precautions:
Be careful when driving, handling machinery or any other activities. Clomipramine may cause lightheadedness and dizziness. If you feel dizzy, avoid these activities.
Vertigo often occurs when you get up from a sitting or lying position. Therefore, go slowly to overcome this vertigo and avoid falling.
Alcoholic drinks may double the effect of this medicine, and they should be avoided.
Do not stop taking the medicine suddenly, as this may lead to symptoms such as nausea, headache and apathy (feeling sick).
Dosage increase:
I seek medical attention immediately.

Drug interactions:
Do not take clomipramine if you are taking a monoamine oxidase inhibitor such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil) or tranylcypromine (Parnate) within 14 days.
Clomipramine may increase the effect of other drugs that cause dizziness, such as antidepressants, alcohol, antihistamines, analgesics (used to treat poor sleep), pain relievers, anxiety medications and muscle relaxants. Inform your doctor of all medicines that you are taking and do not take any other medicine before informing your doctor.
Some other medicines not listed may interact with clomipramine. Therefore, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before you take any other medicine, including herbal preparations.
Pregnancy and lactation:
For women, this medicine should be avoided during pregnancy and lactation.
Like other medicines, if you are expecting to become pregnant, tell your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
