Hope everybody is well. I'm fine too. In the previous episode, Amin wrote about the United States. In today's second episode we will discuss another country. Indonesia is one of the war-torn countries. Indonesia is a country that gained its independence by waging war.

Indonesia

Europeans came to Indonesia in search of aromatic spices. Among them the Dutch (inhabitants of the Netherlands) were strong and dominant. The Dutch formed the East India Company and began to control the spice business.

During World War I, the Japanese invaded Indonesia and drove out the Dutch. It was at this time that the independence movement gained momentum in Indonesia. On August 15, 1945, two days after Japan surrendered to the Allies, Indonesia suddenly declared independence on August 16.

Sukarno, the undisputed leader of the independence movement, was appointed President of the country. At that time, the Dutch used all their might to establish their authority in Indonesia. The armed struggle for independence began in December 1949 at the cost of millions of lives in a four-year war.
