The Prime Minister made the call while inaugurating the tree planting program organized by Krishka League through video conferencing from Ganobhaban on Monday (June 15) afternoon.
The Prime Minister said, "Let us all save our country by planting trees in the year of Mujib." Protect the country's environment, and ensure food security for the people. Emphasizing on planting more fruit trees, Sheikh Hasina said it is necessary to plant fruit trees extensively. Because the supply of nutrients comes from the fruit. Green belts should be built in the coastal areas. The ones that hold the soil, such as our palm trees, date palms, palm trees, we need to plant them in different ways. To save this deltaic island (Bangladesh) there is no alternative to tree planting. You don't just have to plant a tree, you have to take care of the tree after planting. You have to nurture the tree. Just like you have to nurture your child, if you plant a tree, you also have to take care of it, you have to nurture it. Then he will bear fruit. I will eat fruit but I will not take care of it. I think everyone will take care of the trees.
The party president and prime minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed every leader and activist of the Awami League and all its allies and fraternal organizations to plant at least three trees. He also urged the people to plant at least three trees.

Following this, we Krishak League leaders and workers have been divided into ten zones across Bangladesh with Krishak League leaders and workers." After the inauguration, the Prime Minister planted tree saplings at Ganobhaban.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister announced to reward the Krishka League who will plant more trees. Meanwhile, Sheikh Hasina announced financial support from the Awami League to the Krishka League fund for the award.
