West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress president Mamata Banerjee has taken the initiative to form an anti-BJP alliance in India. He made the proposal in a letter to almost all the important opposition leaders in the country, including Sonia Gandhi and Sharad Pawar. The Trinamool leader mentioned in the letter that the strategy needs to be fixed as soon as the voting in the ongoing phase of the assembly is over.The Trinamool Congress on Wednesday published the March 26 letter to the opposition leaders. In it, Mamata wrote, the BJP wants to impose one-party autocratic rule in the country. The time has come to give the people a credible alternative to the blow to democracy and the constitution.
Mamata wrote that once the vote is over, everyone needs to sit together and work out a strategy to stop the BJP. He is ready to fight in alliance with all like-minded parties.The letter was sent by Mamata to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, NCP leader Sharad Pawar, DMK leader MK Stalin, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, RJD leader Tejswi Yadav, Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, Jharkhand chief minister and Jharkhand Chief Minister MM. Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal, BJD leader Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, Telangana state Association leader and state chief minister Chandrasekhar Rao, National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah, PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti and CPI (ML) leader Dipankar Bhattacharya. Mamata did not send this letter to any leader of the Left Front in West Bengal including CPI and CPM. Bahujan Samaj Party leader Mayawati was not sent either. Obviously, he does not think of them as 'equitable'.In her letter, Mamata cited several examples of how the BJP was trying to impose "one-party dictatorship" on the country and harass the opposition. He started by referring to the recently passed law, which made the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi a part of the elected government. The law states that the elected government must take any decision based on the opinion of the lieutenant governor. According to Mamata, the center has imposed a nominee on the elected government The BJP wants to usurp all power. Because, they can't stand any opposition. Can't accept the party that defeated the BJP in 2014 and 2019 and formed the government in Delhi with an absolute majority.Mamata cited seven examples of BJP's "murder of democracy" and "violation of the constitution" in the letter. He said that with the governor, they have been harassing one opposition state after another. The party office has made Raj Bhavan. The CBI is misusing government agencies like the ED against the opposition leaders. In states like West Bengal, Tamil Nadu where the vote Ongoing, there is a search with the ED against the leaders of the Trinamool Congress and DMK. Opposition parties have deliberately withheld money to pay off their dues so that development in the state would come to a standstill.
