A cat has not been able to eat properly for a few days. Her boss is very worried about her. He took the cat to the hospital. According to the hospital, the cat may have a thorn in its neck. Medication was given. The doctor said there was nothing to fear, he would recover. The owner was reassured. He returned home with the smiling cat.

This is not news in Europe-America. This is a very common occurrence. It is not uncommon for pets to be taken to hospital if they are sick. Some wealthy families in Bangladesh also take the responsibility of taking their pets to the hospital when they get sick. In most cases, however, the financial value of the animal acts primarily as a catalyst for that responsibility.

When a poor working woman in our country is found in the role of the owner of the pet cat, it becomes the news of the newspaper. The incident of Asiya Khatun's pet cat 'Minu' going to the livestock officer's office in Gazipur's Sreepur was first reported on Friday. The incident has moved everyone.

If a pet gets sick, its owner will be worried and will take it to the doctor this was supposed to be a very normal occurrence. But we live in a society where such incidents are rare. This humane value of Asiya Khatun is undoubtedly to be followed in this difficult time of lack of compassion towards animals. When people are sick, they can say that, they can go for treatment, but helpless animals cannot do that. Due to this their suffering is more. People like Ashiya realize their misery. That realization shakes the consciousness of the whole society.

Asiya Khatun's love for animals conveyed the message to everyone that animal love has nothing to do with financial well-being or not.

It is encouraging that many of our non-governmental organizations are carrying out various activities to increase the sensitivity towards pets. However, the government should have more role in this case.

There is a pet adaptation center in Manhattan, New York, called The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. For more than 150 years, they have been working to prevent cruelty to animals. They are playing a big role in animal rescue, adoption from donors and animal welfare.

Such initiatives can also be taken in our country.
