Since coming to power, US President Donald Trump has been trying to put maximum pressure on Iran to weaken the country and force Washington to accept its unjust demands.

The U.S. government has imposed unprecedented sanctions on Iran and is increasing its military presence in the Persian Gulf. But to date they have not achieved any success. U.S. Democrat Sen. Chris Murphy acknowledges that in almost all areas of West Asia, Iran has become much stronger today, while the United States has become weaker over the past four years. He described the launch of the Iranian military satellite "Nur" as a great achievement for the country and said that Iran was getting stronger day by day due to the wrong policies of President Trump.

The U.S. Democrat senator added that Trump's policy has been a major setback for the United States, and that Iran has become stronger and the United States weaker in almost every case than in the past four years. Observers say the US senator's confession suggests that no matter how successful Trump may have been in bringing Iran to the brink, he has achieved nothing. Since coming to power, President Trump has made a number of attempts to weaken Iran's Islamic government. He has pulled out of the nuclear deal and engaged in an economic war against Iran by imposing tough sanctions. He also tried to form a joint navy with countries in the region last year to put pressure on Iran militarily.

But Iran has taken a firm stand against the US threat and strengthened its position in the region. Even in retaliation for Europe's failure to honor US sanctions, Iran withdrew from the nuclear deal in five rounds and resumed peaceful nuclear activities. "Trump has destroyed the nuclear deal and he has promised to put international pressure on Iran to accept a new deal," said Democrat Sen. Murphy. But Trump has failed. The US senator has acknowledged that Trump's withdrawal from the nuclear deal has led to renewed sanctions on Iran, but has not achieved much.

Meanwhile, Konstantin Kasachov, head of the Russian parliament's foreign affairs committee, said Iran's launch of a military satellite into space was not in violation of a UN Security Council resolution.
