Iran and China are set to sign a 25-year cooperation agreement. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibazadeh made the announcement in Tehran on Saturday. News AFP.
Khatibzadeh told state TV that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Tehran last night. During his visit, agreements will be reached on various issues including political, strategic and economic issues.
Spokesman Khatibzadeh added that the agreement would be very effective in deepening Iran-China relations.
The agreement was first proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping during a visit to Tehran in January 2016.
China and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani have drawn up a roadmap for mutual investment in transport, ports, energy and industry.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javed Zarif hosted the signing ceremony this afternoon.
