A real estate trader started leveling the land. The workers were going through a busy day. Sudden noise. A mouthpiece metal pot came out while digging. Charakagacha eye to open it! Pot-filled gold-silver jewelry of old period. Earrings, nose rings, garlands — everything is in it!
The incident took place in the southern Indian state of Telangana. Indian media outlet NDTV reported on Friday that work was underway to level the ground for a building on a plot next to the Warangal-Hyderabad National Highway in Pembarthi village in Jangaon district. A pot made of copper comes up in the workers' spade. Later, the mouth of the pot was opened and various old-fashioned nose-rings, earrings, necklaces and other jewelery made of gold and silver were found.
Later it was found that there was silver jewelery weighing 1 kg 626 grams. The combined weight of gold jewelry is 18.45 grams. According to the locals, these ancient ornaments were once worn by goddesses. Later it was kept in metal containers. Which has been buried in the whirlpool of time.
The incident of digging the soil and rescuing the jewelry quickly spread to the surrounding area. Many people from nearby villages rushed there. They worship this place by burning incense sticks, breaking coconuts and flowers. The villagers believe that at one time there was a temple of the goddess in this place. The ornaments of that goddess idol have been found under the ground.
Narasimhulu, the owner of the land, said excavations would continue to find out if there were more ornaments buried. However, neither the owner nor the real estate trader is getting ownership of the recovered gold and silver jewelery.
According to the NDTV report, the Additional Collector of the district has already taken the jewelery. According to the law enacted in 18, the Government of India owns the recovered jewelery. Archaeologists are still struggling to gather enough evidence before reaching the final conclusions about the age of the jewelry.
