Shinzo Abe, Japan's longest-serving PM, announced his resignation for health reasons on Friday. He has long had ulcerative colitis, but it recently worsened as he visited a hospital twice a week. He also said that he would continue to take charge until the next prime minister is elected. And there would be no deputy prime minister.
