Bitcoin Cash (BCH) forked from the Bitcoin (BTC) Network on August 1, 2017. BCH is a fork of bitcoin which allows for more transactions in each block. This allows for lower average fees and faster average confirmation times.

You can use Bitcoin Cash for payments with BitPay's consumer products, and you can use Bitcoin Cash to pay for things with most BitPay merchants.
How do I pay a BitPay invoice with Bitcoin Cash?
To pay a BitPay Invoice with BCH, just follow the instructions in How To Pay guide. The steps are the same for Bitcoin Cash as they are for Bitcoin.
A wallet/exchange is saying my wallet address is invalid. What does this mean?
That error message likely means that your wallet is using a different address format than the format the exchange or wallet is using. For more information about Bitcoin Cash Address formats, you can read this blog post on the recent update.
How do I get Bitcoin Cash?
There are several easy ways to get Bitcoin Cash. You may not even have to leave the BitPay or Copay wallet.
If you have a Bitcoin (BTC) wallet balance from before August 1, 2017, you can recover a corresponding amount of BCH from within your wallet.
If you don't have Bitcoin from before the fork, you can turn your BTC into BCH with our ShapeShift integration.
If you don't have the BitPay or Copay Wallet, you can purchase BCH on an exchange like Coinbase and then send it to a BCH wallet. Check out our video showing how to do that with BTC. The process is similar with BCH.
