it's been seven months. you're my first real relationship. you call when you say you will. you text me to check i got home safe. you remember my favourite songs. you care about your family. you're a good man.
so why can't I stop comparing the way I feel about you to the way I felt about him? He was no good for me - he didn't love me. He used me. Hell, the time I spent with him wasn't even considered dating. I haven't even seen him in years.
You whispered it in the darkness when you thought I was asleep. The three words I thought I'd been waiting to hear. But when I heard them float out in the darkness all I felt was numb. You deserve so much more than I can give you. If I were a better person, I'd let you go. i'm trying so hard to be a better person.
