Homeless man in Italy won 3.6 million dollars: he can't collect it because..
The man kept buying lottery tickets and using the same numbers: luck had finally smiled on him.
According to the edition of Corriere Adriatico, in the Italian town of Senigallia, a homeless man nicknamed Cassano (in honor of the soccer player of Roma and Real Madrid) won in the lottery 37 thousand euros, which at the current exchange rate is about 3.6 million dollars.
He was one of 8 winners who won a similar amount in the lottery. Cassano has long been fond of lottery draws. He regularly bought 1.5 euro tickets and always put the same numbers in them. Previously, he was not lucky, but now he managed to hit a solid jackpot.
However, there is a small nuance: the man does not want to give the winnings. The fact is that the homeless man has no documents. The organizers of the lottery require from him a health insurance card and a tax code. Alas, but the man does not have these documents at his disposal.
Fortunately, there are kind people in the world. Cassano has already been promised help. The charity organization Caritas said it could help the man. The fact is that this organization is engaged in helping the homeless. Many years ago Cassano turned to them for help and left his documents in the organization. Caritas representatives said that they have in their possession the man's tax code and health insurance card. Therefore, they will provide copies of the documents to the lottery organizers so that Cassano will finally receive his winnings.
This amount won't buy a home, but it's not a bad start-up capital for a homeless man if he wants to dramatically change his life. And even if every tenth lottery participant statistically becomes bankrupt, Cassano still has every chance for a better life.
Of course, they would be much better if he became a winner in the American lottery Powerball.
But even 37 thousand euros is sometimes enough to change your life fundamentally.
