These days, many people are taking expensive biotin imported from abroad to prevent hair loss or to grow hair. It also appears that some physicians are encouraging patients to take biotin. But, the question is - does biotin work to grow hair? Or is there a need to eat extra biotin at all? A healthy-normal human body is less likely to be deficient in biotin if it does not suffer from malnutrition in general.

What is biotin?

Biotin is a vitamin of the vitamin B family, also known as vitamin H. It is not made in the body. Therefore, its needs have to be met through daily food. Again, even if taken in large doses, it does not accumulate in the body. An adult needs 50-100 micrograms of biotin per day. Which is enough to meet from the daily diet.

Biotin-rich foods

Any kind of pulses, soybeans, rice, wheat, maize, nuts, cauliflower, egg yolks, liver, bananas, mushrooms, china / cashew nuts contain sufficient amount of biotin. Even if you have any one of these foods in your daily diet, there is no chance of biotin deficiency.

What works?

Biotin plays a role in the formation of hair, skin, and nails. In addition, it helps to increase intelligence, reduce inflammation or diabetes. Biotin also balances blood cholesterol levels by reducing bad cholesterol or increasing good cholesterol.

What happens in the absence?

Lack of biotin causes the skin to become rough or red, accelerating hair loss. However, there is no conclusive evidence or research to date on whether biotin works for hair regrowth.

Things to do

Put biotin-rich foods on your daily food list. Biotin can be taken as medicine only on the advice of a doctor.
