What is cyber bullying

It is the intentional use of electronic communication to threaten, harass, embarrass and socially exclude others .

Cyber bullying is a behaviour that tends to be repeated over time.

Let's take for example someone who prides themselves for being keypad warrior or trolls as they call them..they hold it like it's a title especially on Twitter, it's everywhere though ๐Ÿ™‚

This trolls can't go a day without looking for who to pick on then from that one person they go on to pull the same stunt with another person and the trend goes on and on...

Now cyber bullying has a lot of negative impact on people's mental health in a lot of ways

It's associated with psychological distress such as depressive symptoms, self injurious behaviour and suicidal thoughts.

so I would be discussing.....

6 DIFFERENT WAYS TO DEAL WITH CYBER BULLYING.

1. always remember that the person who is harassing you wants you to respond, now what you should do is not respond that would take away the fun... That would make them back of because they are not feeling the vibes....When you get trolled always distance your self from your phone and think carefully before responding...

2. Follow up when you are more relaxed, you can go back online if you want to at this point the goal is to get your sense of the situation before contacting the person cyber bullying you, now more reason you should think before responding is that if you respond immediately you tend to put your self on the spot, you become more vulnerable to harrasment, because you replied more hastily you might say something you were not supposed to say and the person picks one line out of your response and gets a chance to further harass you

3. Take a screenshot, screen shots are one of the most effective ways to report cyber bullying and ensure you always have a record of what was said.

4. Try not to check your post as frequently as you are used to, but this does not have to be the case you can always limit you social media usage to a few hours a day or what ever works best for you that way bullying won't feel as constant and you will be able to take a break from the online world to take care of your mental health which is very important if you have to necessarily respond think well otherwise move on and take care of your mental health...

5. Report and block, Their is no one above blocking๐Ÿ˜‚ if you view this person to be a threat to your mental health or your overall growth block the person so that your mind can be at rest ๐Ÿ˜œ.

6. Speak with someone in times like this, reach out to friends and family members for support, seek counselling or therapy to improve your mental health and coping skills.

Pls share your experiences on cyber bullying....
