The last Boxing Day

On the 26th of December, the day after Christmas, I had a feeling that something good was going to happen. I was on my bed thinking about what was going to happen, when I heard a noise close to my door. I opened it, only to be met with a surprise package sent to me by my brother. It was a beautiful box wrapped in a blue cover. Then I remembered that it was Boxing Day - a day when loved ones, friends, families and relatives exchange gifts among themselves; that special day when my house gets filled with various gifts and friends.

I collected the box with a warm smile and a big 'thank you '. I went back to my bed wondering what's in the box. I looked at the time, the package was delivered in order to take note; it was 12:00 a.m . I had woken up late due to the Christmas celebration which went down the previous day. Unlike the other Boxing days, when I had counted more than five boxes, I only had one today which was sent to me from my elder brother. I would have been unhappy but, because I had a strange feeling earlier, I was still expecting more.

I had a close examination on the box and tried to fathom what was in it. I placed it on the wooden table in my room. I placed my hands on it and took a deep breath. Whatever it was, I would definitely see it. Quietly but gently, I cut the ribbons around the box with a scissor, then I opened the wrapping. Inside the box, was the newly released colourful Play Station 5. I've been a sucker when it comes to video games. I had previous consoles which was gifted to me by my mom but they were Xbox and not the Play Station which was owned by Sony. Owning a Play Station has always been my dream but I haven't been able to lay my hands on any due to the limited products and high prices set by scalpers whom are ripping off from a lot of people. It was not like the boxes I usually do get on Boxing Day. This one was unusual, colourful plastic with beautiful flowers on them. This was unique and very beautiful. I wanted to put it under my bed, but I remembered the euphoria feeling I had this morning when I woke up.

I placed the box in front of me as if I was about doing an experiment ready to blow up any moment. Beside the Play Station 5 inside the box, I saw a card with a message of hope 'Every thing is going to be better, no matter what, you should never give up'.

Suddenly I read the message on the card a feeling of excitement overwhelmed me. This will definitely be the most special Boxing Day I will ever celebrate. I told you I had a strange feeling and my feelings are usually right
