The UK plans to increase pressure on US technology giant Google and social media giant Facebook.
The country plans to launch a new competitive system from next year to ensure that small companies are cornered and do not hurt customers by dominating the market.
According to a report, a separate department within the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) will implement the new policy. The department has demanded a new law this year to keep an eye on technology giants. Google and Facebook continue to dominate the digital advertising sector.
CMA, the UK's competition policymaker, said the two companies accounted for 80 per cent of the চার 1.4 billion spent in the UK in 2019.
Meanwhile, two US companies have said they are committed to working with the British government and policymakers on digital advertising. This includes giving customers greater control over advertising and data. Oliver Dowden, the digital secretary in the UK, claims that the capacity of a few organizations is growing and that fears are growing. This is reducing innovation and having a negative impact on customers
