I wrote this poet yesterday night, all the way from my country.
***Make you bring your ears,
Make I yarn my experience for here.
Look my country
Naso foreign things full inside,
Government copying all oyinbo styles,
Our own things wey e dey
Go be very useless things,
No planning,
Senseless thinking,
Leaders wey no dey smart enough
To know say
Culture Na the base of the society.
African cultures,
Socialist or communal mindset
Na way of progress for black people
Not the senseless thinking of these leaders
To dey follow follow òyìnbó man.
For my country Na book of 1809
Dem dey use judge case of 2020.
I look and laugh,
Looku media,
Radio, television and the papers,
Nasoso big big English government go dei Talk,
Yet poor man dey plenty more and more,
Economy crumbling everyday,
Independence Na 1960
But since then light e no dey,
Since when dem born me for year 2000
My country never still get light for 24 hours,
Since when dem born me 20 years ago
I never hear say Nigeria good before,
Na "e go better" be the national anthem.
I must laugh,
When politricksians are getting richer,
Nothing for the hardworking man
For my country,
Police uniform dey important pass food
For this country.
I dey looku looku,
I dey laffu laffu,
Wetyn man go do when Na for our eye o
Lai muhammed go CNN
Like him name o him begin dey lie o,
Him say government don provide ten thousand jobs for the youth o,
But wetyn dey happen if you go for the streets?
Plenty graduates dey roam about
No job to give dem now,
First class graduate dey push wheel barrow,
Some Na bricklayer,
The one wey dey stay near my house Na conductor for molue driver
Wey himself be university graduate,
Buhari con go gather pressmen,
Him begin dey tell them say Nigerian youths are lazy.
I look and laugh as country treasury don turn private property
While the people live in abject poverty.
I no fit cry again because Na waste of cry be that e o,
Tears don finish for my eyes
So I must look and laugh,
Soldier don rule us before,
Na politricksians turn we been day,
Different circles and promises
But Nigeria still dey where e dey
Poor man still dey suffer,
I must look and laugh,
I must look and laugh,
Laffu laffu laffu!
Looku looku looku!!
I dey looku!
I dey laffu !!
I chuckle too!!!
I read through it, Wrote a very interesting poem. So lovely Look and laugh. Nice write up.
