We all know that trust is an important part of every relationship. Without trust, no business transaction ever occurs. Here are some important trust symbols you should have on your website, in order to help customers trust you more:

  1. The Padlock Icon: The padlock icon seen at the top of websites means the website is secure (It has SSL).

SSL is an encryption system that helps protect the privacy of data exchanged between a customer and your business.

Customers are highly skeptical nowadays, that is why every website should have SSL to let your customers know that their information is safe with you.

This is even more important if you collect sensitive information on your website (e.g credit card information, customer personal information, etc).

Customers want to know that their sensitive data is encrypted so it doesn't leak to unwanted individuals.

  1. Logo and important brand information:

Your logo and any important brand information should feature on your site.

Emphasis on the word “important”.

Your website shouldn’t be a dumping site for company information.

However if you have a powerful and emotional brand story that people can relate with, it is good to have it on the website as it subconsciously builds trust in the mind of the client.

  1. Achievements:

Nothing sells faster than what you have accomplished.

Any of these achievements are good trust pieces on your website:

  • Awards

  • Relevant certificates

  • Being featured in magazines

  • Noteworthy events

  • Books you’ve written

  • Featured in shows

  • Prominent people you have met with, in your field

Once people can associate a known brand to your business, you are already more trustworthy in their eyes.

  1. Testimonials:

People feel safer knowing that your solutions are tested and proven so they trust you to deliver the same to them.

Testimonials are a simple way to build trust and encourage people to buy from you.

It is very essential you display all testimonials you have on your website, as people trust what other people say about you, more than they trust what you say about yourself
