Swami Vivekananda: our love, inspiration..
Narendranath Dutta, later known as Swami Vivekananda, was born in Calcutta in 1863. During his college days he met Sri Ramakrishna and accepted him as his Master, or Guru, and as his ideal in life. He struggled hard and reached great spiritual heights. Sri Ramakrishna made him the leader of his little group of disciples. Vivekananda was to preach his teaching to the world.
Vivekananda was a man of great intellect and wide sympathies, and he was very learned.
He was also a strong spiritual personality, powerful, yet full of fun and humour and loving to all. He travelled all over India on foot. He loved the poor and the down-trodden that he met everywhere, and he loved his motherland, India.
