Community life in Settlements (With the discovery of agriculture, the Neolithic people began to lead a settled life in a place in groups. Obedience to certain rules and regulations and maintenance of discipline are the primary conditions of social life. Though there was no law in that age, all the members of a group would abide by the decision taken by the elderly people.) This social life begot the idea of ‘property. At first land was owned
collectively by all the members of a Community life group of a particular place. But, gradually a family became the owner of a plot of land, thereby initiating individual property.
