A new animal has been discovered .. Science officially recognizes a "fox cat"

A new type of cat obtained official scientific recognition and was included in the lists of animals, after its discovery on the Italian island of Corsica and making sure that it was really different from the rest of the known cat species.

According to the British newspaper, "Metro", this new type of cat is distinguished by a larger size, compared to other cats, and has wider ears.

The length of one cat on the Italian island is 90 cm, meaning from the head to the end of the tail, and it has short mustaches and strong teeth.

One of the signs that distinguish this unique Corsican cat is the presence of ring-like colored spots on the top of the foot.

Pierre Pendetti, an official at the National Hunting and Wildlife Service, said this cat was known in the area but had not been scientifically identified.

The researcher attributed the lack of knowledge of many about this cat, to being an animal that tends to hide, and it is more active during the night.

He added that these features in the form, which prompted the name "fox cat" to the animal.

There are only 16 such cats on the island of Corsica, which is located to the west of Italy, and environmental agencies are currently making efforts to preserve their survival.
