Visit to Lamahatta

Hello,

Welcome to second blog,I must say i already like this platform.Also today i wanted to share my experience from my travel diary 2019.In Nov 2019 i visited to a famous hill station Darjeeling which is located in West Bengal,India.

Near Darjeeling there is a small village named Lamahatta which is around 23kms away from Darjeeling.

There's a eco park in Lamahatta which is surrounded by huge pine trees and beautiful views of Mt.Kanchenjunga.Also this picturesque village has been developed as an eco-tourism place in 2012.Lama in Lamahatta stands for Buddhist monk & Hatta stands for Hut -"a monk's heritage"

We paid Rs 10/- as an entry fee along with my hubby and entered this park which is a calm & peaceful place with pine trees standing magestically at an altitude of 6800 Ft. A trekking route has also been built that will lead tourists through the pine tree maze to beautiful pond.We trekked along but i didnt go near the pond as it was sacred and especially it was built for the people to remove away the negative energy if they are haunted by any.The pond was built by Buddhist monks with many Buddhist sacred chants.So the people who were facing issues can regain themselves back there.The reason it was built sacred because when we came back from park we came to know there were many people actually killed by tiger or animal attacks as its the dense forest of pine trees.So it was really peaceful but also creepy when we trekked towards the pond.

Experience silence & beauty of Nature combined in Lamahatta.Seats at vantage points have been placed with a watch tower overlooking the surroundings,Also wooden seats are made to sit back and experience the beauty around.Seductive garden,beautiful blossoms of orchids,prayer flags that waves along with the direction of winds.The whole atmosphere is really a treat for visitors who love walking into the corridor of an ectasy along with Nature.

There were also few homestays in Lamahatta village who likes to spend time in Nature instead of hustle bustle of city.Its the best choice for them to avoid the huge rush of tourists of main city Darjeeling and experience the village life in mountains with enchanting views of Mt.Kanchenjunga.

The scenic beauty of Lamahatta arrests one completely not letting them to leave the place easily.Travelling to such serenity filled place along with the accompany of Nature's beauty is a pure relief to the eyes.If you ever plan to visit India this is a must visit place near Darjeeling to witness the Nature's best.
