There is a story about two best friends. One was Shepherd boy named David and the other was a prince named Jonathan. They did many things together and were very happy. Jonathan shared God's love with David and helped him. Jonathan loved David as himself. Jonathan promised David that he would be his friend forever. To show his love, Jonathan gave David some special gifts like his beautiful royal robe, his tunic or shirt, his belt,his bow, and even his word.
Jonathan's father , King Saul, was jealous of David and wanted to kill him. He was unhappy that God was always with David. Even though Jonathan heard about this,he never left his friend and spoke bad of him.
There was a time when Jonathan saved David from being killed. He even helped David to hide from his Father. When Jonathan and David saw each other, they hugged and cried. Jonathan cared so much for his friend. He did not want to see David get hurt. No matter what happened, Jonathan was always there for David. He also helped David ask God for strength. Jonathan knew how wonderful and strong God's love was so he shared it with his friend David.
