Daniel was a wise man who loved God. He was taken to Babylon and learned many things there. King Darius wanted Daniel to be one of his advisers. The other leaders did not like Daniel and were jealous of him. In order to get Daniel in trouble, the jealous leaders planned to make a law that would ask the people to pray only to the king and not to God.
King Darius liked the idea and made it the law. Anybody who would be caught praying to God and not to the king would be thrown into the lions' den.
Daniel always prayed to God three times a day. He was not afraid of the new law because he obeyed and trusted God. The bad men saw Daniel while praying to God and told King Darius about it. The king cared for Danie, but he had no choice but to throw Daniel into the lions' den. Daniel prayed to God to protect him. God heard him and sent an angelto shut the mouth of the lions. Daniel was not hurt at all!
When King Darius visited Daniel the next day, he found Daniel thanking God for keeping him safe. So king Darius knew that Daniel's God was the true God. He ordered that the jealous men be thrown into the lions's den. The ate them all. King Darius also asked the law to be changed. He told the people to pray only to God and not to him.
Truly God will rescue and protect those Who trust in his name.
God has never forsaken those who trust in Him. He's our anchor and protection at all times.
