The good and bad aspects of student politics

The question of the necessity / non-necessity of student politics has once again come to the fore in the last few days of student clashes. The aim of both parties is to rid the current student politics of corruption, only their approaches are different. Those who are against student politics argue that the current state of student politics is miserable: party quarrels, extortion, occupation of halls, clashes, deaths. So they are in favor of banning this student politics. It is not that the other parties who are in favor of maintaining student politics do not want an end to this misery, but they are not willing to directly blame student politics for this. Rather it is the tendency to find out the reasons that are truly responsible for the current state of student politics, although very few people go to the root of the problem. One thing that comes up again and again in the discussion is that this stage is due to the tail-based student politics of the party, but no one can say an easy solution. No one discusses how it is possible to keep student consent free from party influence in the current situation. That's why we find the simple solution is to ban student politics.

I think it is important to shed light on one issue before entering into the main discussion. The question is what do we mean by politics? Is it politics to talk or criticize the various problems of the state or the government or the people, the opportunities, the good and the bad? Is it politics to talk about the instability of the mountains now or to talk about the trial of war criminals? Or is it inappropriate to talk about all these things to students, teachers, doctors, engineers, military personnel or government employees or working people? Is it politics for students to talk about their own problems or teachers to talk about their own problems or working people to talk about their own problems? So is politics limited to just contesting elections and not doing so? Or extortion, hall-occupation, land-occupation, canal-occupation, terrorism are all politics.

I don't think anyone in the midst of politics would want these terrorists or anyone would be against banning them. Then the rest is to talk about the country and the people of the country or their own various problems. Now the question may be, is there a need for this or do students, teachers, different professionals or working people need to think about the country and the people of the country? What do you think? And if all these classes of people don't think about the country, who will think for them - corporate businessmen and foreign diplomats?

Although the main discussion of the article is about student politics but in my opinion student politics is not a separate issue. It deals with issues related to teacher politics, politics of different professionals or labor organizations. There is no time to distinguish one from the other. I also oppose party-based student organizations or teachers' organizations or professional or labor organizations, but at the same time I would like to say that the need for these organizations in a democratic system is also immense. Every adult in the republic has a right and should be aware of the various problems of the republic and give his opinion in that light. It is not possible to ban any particular group or organization by any law unless that group or organization is ideologically involved in violent or destructive activities. So I don't think it is possible or should be banned by law to ban students or teachers or any professional or labor organization. So there is no solution to this sphere puzzle? Isn't organization possible without party tailgating? Everyone wants a party tail-free organization but no one sheds light on how that is possible. I want to discuss a possible reason here.

In my opinion, one of the main reasons for this is a major weakness of our current democratic system and that is the inability to elect the right people's representatives. Regionally elected representatives in proportion to the population do not paint a true picture of the entire population. The present system of election of people's representatives is a completely party based election system. Here the party representatives are elected instead of the people's representatives. In fact, people vote for one party instead of one person. This image is not unique to our country. Even in the advanced countries of the democratic system, the people elect the party. For this reason, he also visited all the countries and formed a party government one by one. Party-elected representatives can rarely go beyond party allegiance. Therefore, the elected representatives in this process never go to the parliament as the representatives of the people. This picture takes a sad shape in developing or underdeveloped countries where the education rate is much lower and the poverty rate is much higher. Party loyalty then enters all the organizations and I see the manifestation of that in the party tail-based organizations.

But loyalty is not just about the team. In the current system, since students or teachers or workers or professionals have no direct role in legislation, they have to take a stand behind the regional people's representatives for anything. This is how the people's representatives become the center of power, and this is how they become the controllers of the various professionals, and this is how factions within the party begin. In addition to party affiliation, this individualism is also responsible for spreading the poison of terrorism among professional and labor organizations. So we need to bring these professionals directly into the government system

Since the discussion is hypothetical (because I don't see any possibility of student politics being banned), I also hypothesize a little - I don't see any good argument in favor of student politics except for the newcomer's point. So if the government bans religion-based politics and the Jamaat-Shibir-Islami parties are permanently crippled from the country, then surely there is no problem in banning student politics?

I give the reason for my objection to student politics in the form of points: -

1) Student politics is mainly university centered and universities are the highest place for knowledge. Research is essential for the pursuit of knowledge and there is no substitute for a stable environment for research. Student politics, be it healthy or sick, will never be able to maintain this stable environment.

2) Students are more likely to divert their attention from studying politics. In our country, politics is the best way to become rich and powerful in a short time. There is no guarantee that students will not walk on this road.

3) I think it is almost impossible to keep student politics separate from party tailgating. It is hard to imagine that students will enter politics and that political parties will not try to influence them.

I think it is possible to form an "apolitical" student organization only if the affiliation or license of a particular political party with any student organization can be made illegal. Moreover, I am also against the formation of other organizations besides student organizations (especially teachers, I do not know of any country in the world where teachers are active in politics). If workers can have teams, if businessmen can have teams, then what is the problem with having employees? If the members of each class of the society open up their organs, then what is the role of the main party?

Thanks for pointing out my words.

I also don't understand why we're assuming that student politics can't be stopped. On the one hand, am I assuming that mainstream politics will one day be corrected by some magic, but I am not optimistic that student politics can be stopped? Sounds like it.

If we all apply the pressure to close together, it is more likely to close. Hasina, during her last government, once announced that she would agree to close the league if others responded. Others naturally did not agree because they were in the opposition then. Such an opportunity must be used immediately. The supporters of all the parties have to be vocal so that they can't get through this.

Sheikh Hasina, during her last government, once announced that she would agree to close the league if others responded.

But Hasina also gave this condition about not going on strike. What a strange match. In fact, our politicians are like us. They know how easy it is to fool us.

The water flows from top to bottom. This is not possible in student politics without improving the quality of core politics. The development of student politics alone is impossible. The issue is overall. And it is impossible to stop. The white and blue panel of teachers is a great example. If the tail-based student organization is closed today, the red, blue and green panels will be divided into new bottles tomorrow.

We are going through a very frightening and deceitful democratic system. Basically we are deprived of all constitutional rights except voting every five years.
It is now the dictatorship of the winning party Amy. See, the MPs of the government and the opposition have agreed on the question of not strengthening the local government in an unprecedented way. In a word, we are hostages to their wishes. They are enjoying an absolute power that is terrible for the people.

There is a message for everyone that the bleaching that took place when Professor Anu Mohammad was thrown on the street. Anyone who speaks for the people will be beaten. We have to find alternative politics. Because there is a kind of understanding between the two ruling parties.
They don't deal with each other's corruption more than just propaganda. The slightest change in this heavenly system is done by them with the inspiration or will of good intellect
I don't see any possibility of that happening.

Discussions can be about all organizations, not just student organizations. As I have said, it involves any organization including teachers, professionals, workers, farmers. Why would student organizations be banned just for party tailgating? Why not other organizations. And in order to nurture terrorism, first of all, the main parties have to be banned if anyone has to be banned.

Let's be a little more focused. Let's discuss how it is possible to keep the student organization free from party influence or is it possible at all? As I have said, if students or other organizations are used to send representatives directly to Parliament, party reliance may be reduced at some point. You can say for or against it. Or you can talk about a solution yourself. For example, if someone's opinion is that student politics can be temporarily stopped, party influence can be freed joined argue for or against it. Or come up with something new.

Group influence on students or any organization. I limit the discussion to how to reduce or control that effect.

But first of all, if you dream of keeping the party organization on campus, that is, the league team or camp like now, and freeing them from the influence of the main team, then I think you will make a big mistake. At least such an idea seems impossible to me.

I am of course in favor of the student organization, but it must be apolitical. It is very possible to elect a non-political parliament by direct vote of the students. They will be student representatives. This is the case in all developed countries of the world. However, there should be a strict policy that membership is canceled if any allegation of party involvement is found on campus.

Sending student organizations directly to parliament does not seem to be a very practical solution. How many thousands of educational institutions in the country, how many people can hear the Parliament?

Temporary shutdown is not a solution in my opinion. The only non-political organization is the solution. Can anyone tell when the country's mainstream politics will be reformed? Why should we let the smell of their shit spread in our educational institutions while we are waiting for him? We will tell the poor helpless family like Abu Bakr Masum who sells everything and sends his son to be a man with high hopes, wait, good days are coming, politicians are being tightened suddenly, there is nothing to be sad about? I saw the slain Masum of Rajshahi cultivating plow, his father cultivated plow and educated his son. Can they be understood to be waiting for these theoretical reforms?

But first of all, if you dream of keeping the party organization on campus, that is, the league team or camp like now, and freeing them from the influence of the main team, then I think you will make a big mistake. At least such an idea seems impossible to me.

I also think that is impossible.

But at the same time I am also thinking whether apolitical student organization is actually possible? Or is that also a puzzle?

Suppose party involvement is prohibited. Now someone continued their activities in the name of preaching. Does not use party names directly. Is there any evidence that Shibir is directly a student organization of Jamaat? Suppose the student league changed their name, did the party's involvement disappear? Or the proof of party involvement or how it can be done.

So my question is will party involvement be stopped only if party student politics is banned unless we can identify the root cause.

“Is apolitical student organization really possible? Or is that a puzzle? ”

- Very valid point. If party student politics is stopped and non-partisan student organization is started from next month, my idea is to pour old wine in new bottles. However, if there is a gap for some time, it is more likely to work.

In this case, the point of the visitor will be really to think, the camp is very smart in this direction. They have various apolitical organizations.

However, appropriate measures can be taken against it.

Sending student organizations directly to parliament does not seem to be a very practical solution. How many thousands of educational institutions in the country, how many people can hear the Parliament?

I did not say to send the student organizations to the parliament. I have said that they should send one or more representatives to the Parliament, who will be considered as the people's representatives like the present MPs. In this way, I said in the original text that there should be student representatives, teacher representatives, workers 'representatives or farmers' representatives in the parliament.

Sorry, misunderstood. Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either. However, for the time being, the responsibility of the Deputy Minister of Education falls to some extent, but how much they perform or can do is a different matter.

However, it will take several representatives in as many educational institutions. Need to think better. But I think these delegates need some formatting. For example, there will be a few in the parliament, but there will also be at the local level.

The only non-political organization is the solution.

There was a request to write a little bit in time about what this apolitical organization will look like or how it will be implemented. This may be the food for new thoughts. Thanks for the comment.

The similarity between the three of us is that all three of us are dreamy.

In fact, our main point is to eliminate or at least reduce terrorism in the campus.

Even if the parliamentary elections are held among the non-partisan student organizations, the amount of violence will be reduced but will not be eradicated. Because the ideological conflict between the organizations will continue.

In fact, the only way to achieve this peace is to eradicate the genes of hatred through genetic engineering.

The first step in reducing the likelihood of violence and reducing malicious attitudes should be to remove students from the leadership. There is no benefit in imagining Akashkusum. We have to proceed step by step. Even if there is no political filth, there will be administrative filth. The only way is to establish the rule of law. It has become a bulwark against the misuse of the law of our country, terrorists and corrupt people!

Shibir and only Shibir will be the only beneficiaries if the party student organization closes at this moment. I wanted to know about the student organizations of the developed countries.

Although there is student politics in the universities, the student leaders are busy in the leisure activities of the political parties Dhaka University Professor. Geeti Ara Nasreen thinks that disgust in student politics is more among the students
Deutsche Welle: What is your view on current student politics?

I don't see the vibrancy or dynamism that is supposed to exist in student politics today. It is not a stable situation in peacetime In fact, it is a state of motionlessness If we talk about the university, then there is corruption, there are various kinds of mismanagement There are no platforms for students to talk, there is no student parliament There should be an active student politics in this situation, now we don't see that We see two parts of current student politics One is that the political parties have a number of organizations But a large part of the students are disgusted with student politics Student politics is such that they will see inconsistencies in society, even in the whole country, but now we do not see that.

Why is student politics suddenly heated? What do you think?

If we don't say it that way, then the driving force behind student politics is temptation. In fact, the place of politics has been taken in the place of personal interest and small party interest Let it be in this world and in the hereafter With a few exceptions, we will see student politics looting and working for the interests of a few For this reason, we will not see the coexistence of active student organizations If the essence of student politics is domination and occupation, mutual respect for healthy politics and a democratic practice, if it is lost and those in power, if they try to occupy as much space as possible, various kinds of heated situations can arise. In this heat, most of the time there are fights within their own group It is often the case that those who want to deal with these inequalities may find it difficult to silence them. Now we are mainly seeing that kind of heat

What should student politics be like?

Student politics should be for the welfare of all Firstly for the welfare of the students and for the needs of the students 7 to solve their problems We will hear the voices of the students through them, this is the real student politics Student organizations are nothing more than student politics, they are all about student issues and the country's issues. In fact, the politics that works for the benefit of all, not for petty interests, is student politics

Is student politics in the hands of students, or in the hands of non-students?

It is not a big deal if the students we see in politics are associated with any educational institution. It seems to me that not everyone is participating here If those who are controlling politics have any registration, it is not a big deal The big thing is, are they reflecting like normal students or are they getting a chance to speak?

Why is there no coexistence of active student organizations on university campuses?

As I have said before, the key word in student politics is domination and occupation Those in power use this muscle power to occupy as much space as possible, or those in power, even those in power in universities or universities. The leaders of the ruling student organizations also want to be used or controlled for personal gain When it comes to this control, coexistence becomes difficult There is no democratic environment here For all these reasons, the coexistence of active student organizations is becoming difficult

Why do university authorities always rely on the ruling student body?

There is no denying that the ruling party in all the universities decides who will be in charge of the university administration. The whole process is now such that those in power want to survive with political power If those inside the university were the source of power, we would not see those in power in control.

Even if there is no election, money is being taken from the students Can teachers play a role in stopping this?

It has been taken for a long time In a real sense, it should be discussed There should be discussions in the forums that teachers have In fact, we teachers are often indifferent to this issue Due to the absence of Daksu, the lack of student representation in the Senate, their demands are not being raised properly. As a result, the teachers are not always able to know the whole voice of the students

You were saying that the leaders of the ruling student organizations are always chasing after money, many are the mothers of huge fortunes.

What is the way out of this situation?

The way out of this situation is known Raises or tenders - these are given to them to control or occupy. We all know who is getting it If those who are getting them now stop them, it will not be difficult to get out of this situation.

Student organizations are more focused on the tailwinds of political parties than educational activities, what is your advice in overcoming the situation?

I think they are being controlled from above, and they want to be controlled to get the benefits themselves If they stop trying to control someone on campus, or if they want to maintain a healthy learning environment on campus, they want to stay away from such control.

What is your advice on the transition from the decline of student politics?

There is a huge soul in the students, I have noticed lately, there is a blocked soul in them. They want to talk to them, they want to solve the problem They want to see university campuses as real campuses, free from apolitics. These students have to be in one place They are also in one place We have seen that there has been movement Ordinary students have to be one to see a campus free of terrorism or anti-politics.
