"Amazon.com strives to be the e-commerce destination where consumers can find and discover anything they want to buy online."
-Jeff Bezos

On July 5, 1994, the world's largest online shopping center, Amazon, was launched by Jeffrey Bezos in Seattle, Washington. Bezos regrets not being able to participate in the "Internet Business Boom" at the time.

In the beginning, Amazon was a small online bookstore with an office in a small garage, but within twenty-three years it has become a bikini for everything from A to Z, which is revealed through the Amazon logo. This A to Z arrow in the logo also means that it is Amazon that can put a smile on the face of online shoppers!

Initially it was called Cadabra, but a year later the name Amazon got Bezos in the dictionary. His goal was to one day spread the word about Amazon. Just like the Amazon River. Starting with just 3 employees, his online business now employs 5,7,000 people.

Although it debuted as a bookstore, Amazon now has 16 different products and services, including Alexa, Amazon, Echo and Kindle. Bezos' current assets amount to ৮ 107.9 billion! What was the key to Bezos' success?

In an interview at Summit LA16, Bezos cited some of the reasons behind his success. Which includes,

One job at a time
Bezos does not believe in multitasking. When he is doing what he wants, he just wants to do it. He does the same thing from the smallest matter. For example, when he reads emails, he only wants to read emails.

Partner selection
Bezos chooses a life partner wisely, because he believes that a lot of success depends on the life partner.

Talent assessment
Bezos uses whatever his talent is. No matter how useless it is. For example, Bezos dreams of becoming a bartender, but can't act as fast as real bartenders. So he said he would write on the wall of his bar, "Do you want your drink to be good, or fast?"

Thrill before, comfort after
Bezos thinks man can create the story of his life on his own. For this he has to choose one of two options. Comfort or thrill? Bezos is so successful today by choosing the thrill

Bezos gave some advice for team work.

Stay with the right people
He called those with whom Bezos lived "talented experts." Does this mean that not all talented people are experts? According to Bezos, more important than who is in a team is how the people in the team are working. Having a group of talented people together does not mean that the work will be good. The success of the team depends on how they work, how well they are able to work together. So Bezos says it's better to be with the right people.

"Life is too short to hangout with people that are not resourceful."

Be interested in learning
When it comes to teamwork, you have to behave like a student. There are many kinds of skilled people in a team. So when working in a team, you should always think of yourself as a beginner and have the mentality to learn a lot from everyone. You might do a job the same way. Someone else might do the same thing differently to make it easier. There is no end to learning.

Nothing will happen overnight
No company or small enterprise succeeds overnight. There is a lot to do for this. Get to work with the mentality that you have to cross many paths.

So much for Bezos' personal and team success, Bezos is as successful in his business as he is personally successful. Bezos also mentions 5 key words to make the business successful. What's happening,

Better a poor horse than no horse at all
"If I interview 50 people and I don't like any of them, I won't pick anyone, but I won't recruit the wrong people," Bezos said in a letter to his shareholders. Elections are the most important tool for Amazon's success. And it will be so for the rest of your life.

Interview questions taken during Amazon's employee selection also follow this norm. The question is, if you were sent to Mars, how would you solve the problems there? Suppose again, if you were offered 10,000 Samsung Galaxy S3 at 34% discount, would you accept it?

Be stubborn and flexible, both
You just have to be more discriminating with the help you render toward other people. If you are not stubborn, you will give up if you do not succeed in research work. Again, if you are stubborn but not flexible, you will not research in new ways, but if you do not succeed, you will hit the wall and then go back to research in the same old way.

Give consumers something different
If your competitors and you

If you present the same product to consumers, then what is your specialty? Why would consumers buy your product? So we have to present something different to the consumers. For example, in the beginning, when everyone went to buy books on their own, Amazon brought an online bookstore that saved consumers both time and labor.

“We see our customers as invited guests to a party, and we are the hosts. It’s our job every day to make every important aspect of the customer experience a little bit better. ”

Employee satisfaction should not be a cause of consumer dissatisfaction

The internal environment of the business is controllable, but the external environment is completely out of control. There will be problems in the internal environment, but its impact should not fall on the consumers. The position of consumers is far above the external environment. They should not be dissatisfied in any way.

“The best customer service is if the customer doesn’t need to call you, doesn’t need to talk to you. It just works. ”

The ideas have to be put to good use, no matter who they are

Bezos said that often the company's apprentices can also come up with better and more relevant information ideas from the company's senior officers. A good idea must be taken as a good idea, it cannot be ignored by thinking that it comes from someone in a low position. And the more realistic the idea, the more acceptable it is.

Long-term gains are better than temporary gains:

It's a lot like the proverb that if you give a person a fish, he will have one meal a day, but if you teach him to fish, he will have a lifetime of food. The same thing is done on Amazon. They do not do things that are immediately profitable but not long-term.

There are also some aspects of Amazon that have worked behind its success. For example, on Amazon, Bezos makes very little profit, which increases its sales. In the beginning, Bezos did not have the money to advertise on Amazon. Then he focused on consumer service. So that the consumers are satisfied with his service, they inform the people around them. That's how Amazon's name spread around.

“We’ve had three big ideas at Amazon that we’ve stuck with for 18 years, and they’re the reason we’re successful: Put the customer first. Invent. And be patient. ”
