Technology has made us forget the true essence of our life…
“Modern age is the age of technology” I am sure you guys must have heard this like a billion times and there is actually no doubt about it. Everywhere you go, you can see technology operating from ceiling fans to highly developed artificial intelligence system (like the one we have here on read.cash that tips us). Who would have thought in the old times that life would become that easy in future. I still remember in my childhood I used to watch Aladdin cartoon in which Aladdin had a flying carpet. Every time, I watched that cartoon I would think I wish I could fly on a flying carpet. Then there was a movie named “Home Alone” in which this guy had a remote control and he used to control opening and closing of his house doors by just commanding the remote. At that time, those things looked like magic to me. But when I think now, similar things happen around us everyday now. Instead of magic carpets we have aeroplanes, instead of those remote controls we have Siri in our Iphones, which fetches everything in our phones that we command her to fetch.
Life has been made much easier by science and technology. If you want money just go to ATM machine, insert card and take out money. If you want to see and talk to your relatives living abroad just simply video call them. It seems so strange that in old times, letters were the source of communication between people living far away. For watching movies there were cassettes to be inserted in VCR or VCD. Now we have mobile phones and we can watch whatever we want without the need of wires, CDs or VCR etc. For data storage, registers were used or some years ago the concept of floppy disk was introduced. Today even the USB system looks inefficient and it is the age of icloud which is more secure and has unlimited storage capacity.
The advancement of technology has also revolutionised the field of medical sciences. Who could have imagined the concept of endoscopy a few years back? A simple PCR can amplify and create millions of copies of any specific gene of living body with in hours. If your kidneys are not functioning properly, it is nothing to worry about as technology has put forward the solution of this problem as well in the form of dialysis.
So it is truly said that “Modern age is the age of technology”. But have you ever wondered, what sort of hole it has left in our lives? In my opinion, although technology has made our lives much easier but it has some drawbacks as well. I personally think that we are living robotic lives. The sense of mutualism has vanished somehow due to technology. As I still remember my childhood days, when we used to make or buy cards for special occasions like Eid, Ramadan etc to give them to our friends and family. But today, no such thing happens rather the concept of cards has just vanished from our lives. My grandmother tells me that in her time, they used to have a single television and the entire family would gather around at 8 o’ clock to watch the drama serial. Today no one has time to talk to the person sitting next to him. Every one is just focused on his own life. We can’t spare time for our loved ones because technology has consumed our time. It is heart wrenching that technology has made us forget who we are and what is the true essence of our lives….?

Verily, technology although made things easier for us but we are unfortunately unable to give a proper one minute to our love ones. Sometimes Although we sit together somehow but unable to relinquish on cellphone. I think in some cases technology is worse specially in case of mobile phone 📱🙄
