Bangabandhu Safari Park is located in Mauna Union under Sreepur upazila of Gazipur district in Bangladesh. Bara Rathura Mouza and Pirujali Mouza of Pirujali Union of Sadar Upazila have 4909.0 acres of forest land known as safe habitat for small and large species of animals. Of this, 3610.0 acres have been included in the master plan of the safari park.
The safari park has been set up in following the South Asian model, especially the safari world of Thailand. Some ideas of Bali Safari Park in Indonesia have also been inserted. Permanent walls are being constructed around the safari park and within it opportunities have been created for breeding and free roaming of domestic / foreign wildlife so that tourists can access education, research and recreation by traveling in moving vehicles or on foot.
The safari park has hippos, tigers, lions, elephants, sambar deer, maya deer, chitra deer, kangaroo, zebra, monkey, Hanuman, bear, hyena, crocodile and various birds.
To reach the safari park, one has to take the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway. 40 km far from Dhaka, you need to take Bagerbazar bus stoppage and then take the auto to reach safari park.
