I'm sure you'd have heard his name. He is the person who has had the most assassination attempts. He is Fidel Castro. First I'll tell you who he is.

Who is Fidel Castro?

Fidel Castro was a Cuban revolutionary and politician who served as the Prime minister of Cuba from 1959 to 1976 and as president from 1976 to 2008. He took a key role in the Cuban Revolution against Batista's forces. After overthrowing these forces in 1959,he became Cuba's prime minister.

But the United States came to oppose Castro's government and attempted(unsuccessful) to remove him by assassination and counter-revolution.

He later aligned with the Soviet Union and converted Cuba into a socialist country.

Why was there a need to assassinate him?

From the above information, you may have had a glimpse why the CIA needed to remove him.Cuba's alliance with the Soviet Union was the main reason. Due to this, United States viewed Castro as a threat.

Over a period of 40 years, 638 unsuccessful attempts were made.But He died of natural causes.

Out of these 638 attempts,few of them were of another level.

One of the attempt involved his lover.She was given the job to kill Castro by CIA. They gave her two botulism toxic pills to drop in his drink. But she couldn't do it. He handed her a gun and told her to kill him but she couldn't.
