Time… The raw material of everything. Everything is possible with it, without it… all is impossible. Thinkers have explained to us the vacuum of space, but time… no one has.
Me? I can't do that much, but I can tell you how I live 1 day in 24 hours...
We always say that time is not enough. There are many things we want to do, but we can't find the opportunity. Finally, we postpone it all to tomorrow or to an unknown date when we will have more time.
Let me give the bad news first. You will never have "more" time. Because you already have all the time.
I can't work wonders and give you the secret of how to create more time. But the good news: I can remind you how to live 1 day in 24 hours.
As our ancestors said
Time is cash.
What our ancestors didn't say is that while we can get all the cash in time, we can't even buy ourselves an extra minute.
None of you have a minute more than me or the kitty lying by the fire.
Since we can never have more than 24 hours, we must have a different solution: learning to live 1 day in 24 hours.
1. Admit the Wrong
Most of us consider a day to be between 6 and 8 hours.
This time corresponds to the time we spend on our full-time job or school.
So, we reduce our time to whatever makes that day for us.
We think that when we force ourselves to do something in hours other than that, we will steal the energy of the next day.
However, our brain has the capacity to process difficult things all the time. Unlike our arm and leg muscles, our brain does not need rest, except during sleep.
All our brains want is difference. When you provide this difference, you get closer to living a day in 24 hours.
So what if we're feeling tired?
2. Reject the Lie
You came home at 6 o'clock in the evening, let's face it.
When you look in the mirror and see your flushed face, you will tell yourself that you are "very tired". On the contrary, tell yourself that you are not tired and plan what you will do for the next three hours.
By the way, what you're going to do doesn't have to be business-related. Just focus on what's important to you.
And no, throwing yourself on the couch for hours at a computer doesn't count unless you have a purpose.
If you don't want to limit 1 day to 6 or 8 hours, reject the biggest lie you ever told yourself. You are not tired and you know it.
3. Don't Take The Time
As soon as you step out of the house tomorrow, start thinking about something in your mind.
No music, no phone, no podcasts. Not much, but within a few minutes, you will realize that you have switched from your mind to a different subject.
When we say we will make use of the time, we burden ourselves so much that we do not remember what it is to be alone with ourselves.
However, in order to feel the existence of time, we need to take a break from the phone in our hand and the earphones in our ears.
Because, what we don't realize is that while we are constantly struggling to use time with different things, we miss a bigger opportunity: the opportunity to spend time alone with ourselves.
As Blaise Pascal said in the 17th century:
“All of humanity's problems stem from the inability to sit quietly in a room alone.”
Thanks for your time!
