Q:
How to deal with sadness from the perspective of Quran and Sunnah?

Positive psychology shows that when we feel good and have a positive mindset, we are smarter, feel more motivated and enjoy more success.
In arabic word "Huzn" (sadness, grief)
{So do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are [true] believers.} Quran 3.139
{And be patient, [O Muhammad], and your patience is not but through Allah . And do not grieve over them and do not be in distress over what they conspire. }Quran 16.12

Psychologists have known for a long time that negative emotions constrict our ability to think and act.
Let’s take a look at some practical guidance from the Quran and Sunnah that’ll help us deal with sadnes.

1. Simile often, it's sunnah!:

         Smile, it’s Sunnah”
{And when you are greeted with a greeting, greet [in return] with one better than it or [at least] return it [in a like manner]. Indeed, Allah is ever, over all things, an Accountant.}Quran 4.86
Greeting people with a smile, whether it be with saying Salaam or a simple hello.
"And smiling in the face of your brother is a charity (that Allah will reward you for).
"Peace begins with a simile"
"A smile is the most beautiful gift you can give to the world". ...

2. Seek Allah’s protection in Dua:

Ask Allah to protect you from it. If you want to live a life without depression, stress, and sadness then take time to make “Astaghfar”.
Pray from Allah!
“O Allah, I seek your protection from distress and grief.”

3. Say things that please Allah:

when a difficult situation presents itself,  love to say, “Allah knows best, Allah knows best.” Saying this makes you feel so calm, safe and spiritually happy.

What pleasing things do you say at challenging times?

4. Speak of Allah’s blessings upon you:
There are people who dream of being like you.so, thank Allah and say." Alhumdolilah"

{And as for the blessings of Allah, speak of it.} Quran 93:11
  ALLAH Almighty says:
"And if you should count the favors of Allah , you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful"

5. Remind yourself: Nothing and no one can benefit or harm you; it’s in Allah’s Hands:

Know that if the nation were to gather together to benefit you with something, they would not benefit you except with that which Allah has already recorded for you.
If they gather to harm you by something, they would not be able to harm you by anything except what Allah has already recorded against you.
The understanding of this concept is part of the realisation of the reality of faith.
